My husband and I tried Kalamaki this past weekend. The restaurant is an order-at-the-counter-and-wait-for-your-name type of place. The decor is fun and bright, and the restaurant is spacious. We decided to try a few different dishes, so we ordered the trio appetizer, the chicken and steak/lamb carved meats, and the Greek salad. The best thing we ate was the spicy feta that was part of the trio. The hummus was just okay, and the tzatziki was good. The meats we received were cut so fine that a spoon was needed to eat it. The meats were not as flavorful as expected but still edible. The Greek salad was the most disappointing part of the meal. The tomatoes were cut too large, and the dressing was basically olive oil with some seasoning in it. We didn't eat it all, and I definitely would not order it again. Also, I understand it is supposed to be street food, but I don't really like eating with plastic cutlery and out of cardboard baskets. All of the drinks are also bottled, so it is definitely not environmentally conscious. Overall, I probably would not...
Read moreAs a former line cook at an family authentic Lebanese restaurant, I always am looking for Greek, Lebanese & Mediterranean food spots near me. We found this spot through my family and we decided to go. Sandwiches are decently priced at about 9.00, but the Combos come out to 14.00 for a side and a drink. A little high, but if the food is worth it, that price isn’t bad. The food is honestly, not bad. I enjoy tzatziki and that is my first test whether a place is good or not. The tzatziki, is not bad. It’s on par with most places but not something I would actively go only here for. I ended up getting the Traditional Gyro with Steak & Lamb. They put French fries inside the sandwich, with tzatziki, and the meat(it comes with tomatoes & onions as well). The food was not bad overall. I enjoyed my meal and it was a nice dainty place. I would recommend coming here. Nothing blew me away and would get me coming back as a regular, but if I was in the area and looking for food, this would definitely be my choice. Thanks for...
Read moreHad a great visit here. Enjoyed the mixed carved meats lamb and steak as well as pork. Flavor is all there. Real tzatziki to complement the food. I wasn't a fan of the kalamaki sauce but, I'm a snob when it comes to the tzatziki. Fantastic! Has to try the loukoumades and they were dangerously good! My one gripe about the visit...I don't mind waiting a few minutes for the food for it to come out more fresh. I feel like the flavor was there but everything seems cut and prepared ahead of time to be able to serve quickly. It dries out and over cooks the food a little. The loukoumades were the same, but I understand it's difficult to have a person dedicated to just making loukoumades to order. I'd...
