Los Toritos Mexican Cuisine — Restaurant in Winston-Salem

So I bought a meal from this restaurant on Postmates the other day and it was beyond awful! Firstly the food was extremely small, but that’s something I can look past. Then there’s the queso dip. The queso dip tastes like heavy cream and American cheese, with the addition of being so liquidy that it literally just drips off your chip. Then there’s the quesadilla. I ordered the Quesadilla Rellena, which sounded immensely good on the description. When I got it the tortilla was so soggy in grease it tore while picking up, the “steak” was purely grey with no pink or even brown or black coloring on it, the queso tasted exactly like the dip, the cooked peppers and onions (which it never even said it had in the first place) were both burned AND soggy (which I have no clue how you can do) and there was a massive pool of congealed grease in the center of it. On top of all that the sour cream was expired, the lettuce was brown, and the guacamole tasted like a foot. The only thing I can say positively about this place is that it’s cheap so I didn’t waste too much money, and their chips are really good. Walking into a super friendly atmosphere. Was seated promptly. Very festive mexican decoration and music going on. The bathroom was clean and smelled fresh. This was my first time here, so after checking out the menu, I went with my favorite wherever I go and ordered the Chori Pollo lunch special.

Chips: light and crispy definitely some of the best I've ever 5/5 Salsa: Fresh tasting. Maybe slightly more liquid than others, but no points were deducted for that. It did have some heat to it. A low end of medium for sure. Onion and cilantro as well. Very nice. 5/5

Lunch came out promptly

Tortillas: I was offered corn or flour, I chose flour. Warm, soft, perfect. 5/5

Chorizo: Super flavorful with perfect amount of spices 5/5 Chicken: Tender, flavorful 5/5 Sauce: perfect flavor 5/5 Beans: good consistency, not bland, everything you want in beans Rice: good seasoned rice, solid flavor, not dry, all the good things rice should be 4.5/5

Great place with great prices! Will come back to try some more staples and review.

I absolutely LOVE this restaurant 😍 Let me tell you, EVERYTHING about it is pretty much PERFECT ❤️ the food, staff, cleanliness and location is hands down the BEST Mexican restaurant I've EVER had the pleasure in visiting. The staff I want them to know how deeply appreciated they are, every time I've been they always are sure to go above and beyond what's asked of them, they always bring exactly what I need before I get the chance to ask. My order has never been wrong, always steaming HOT, looks incredible and tastes even better. Again BEST of the BEST here y'all.

If you haven't been here yet, please add it to your dinner menus for tomorrow night or lunch date, it's a MUST VISIT kinda place. I SWEAR you WON'T regret it.
