Best Mexican restaurant, period. Always fresh ingredients, warm tortilla chips, and perfect blend of spices in every dish. I discovered them when they first opened, and now live an hour away. I try to still get there every week or two. Nowhere else even comes close! Updated review: I am shocked by the reviews complaining about the menu not having pictures! Every place I've gone that puts photos on the menu have had terrible food! La Botana is the real deal. If you aren't sure what you want, wait staff is happy to help, and the menu is extensive. To go orders don't come with chips and salsa, but you won't be left hungry even if you forget to request they add it to your order. They briefly charged for chips and salsa refills, but don't any longer. Even when they did, the salsa here is amazing and well worth the dollar surcharge. Lunch menu is very reasonably priced and dine in included tea with most items. The tea is homemade and delicious, every single item I've ever ordered has been out of this world! The queso is fabulous, and the mole is so good I could drink it! This is the only restaurant I will dine in since covid began in March, because they are so careful and caring about their customers and staff... always masked properly and the tables are spaced well beyond six feet apart for safety. The sopapillas are beautiful and delicious, with perfect proportions of chocolate and honey. You can't go wrong...
Read moreAbsolutely horrible. My boyfriend and I stopped in for lunch today and first off, it took forever for our order to be taken. I ordered the quesadilla lunch combo with diced jalapeños inside and he ordered two soft beef tacos with a side of sour cream(.99). We also ordered some bean dip (when we paid our bill we were informed this was $5.00!! And quite honestly, it tasted terrible). When we received our food, I had maybe 4 jalapeños thrown on the side of my plate (not really a big deal that they weren't inside, just didn't appreciate being charged .99 for 4 jalapeños), and my boyfriend was brought hard shell tacos although he ordered soft shell. When he politely pointed this out to another server that was passing by, because our sever didn't come around very much, she understood and took the plate, our server then came back with the same plate and made the point of telling him he was wrong and that he had just said two tacos. Disregarding that comment, he just asked if they could flip them onto two flour tortillas. The server said he would just bring two tortillas on the side to him. My boyfriend then had to prepare his own tacos. Once everything was correct and we were finally able to eat our food, we were sadly very disappointed. The quality of the food was not very good. It's possible that we may have just came on a bad day. However, we will not...
Read moreI have been going here for the last 2 years every month at least once, sometimes more.....usually at lunch. I went to dinner this time and the service was not good for the first time ever and I was very unhappy with the meal, I got the 3 street tacos. I asked to replace the rice and beans with a salad....no can do....and she tried to charge me more than what was listed on the menu Not sure why this was a problem at all. The salad was the whole reason for going.....I sat there like a manikin for 20 min with noone checking on me, while waiting for my dinner. Out of anything to drink and out of chips and salsa. I had to ask another waitress to help me. The meat or the spice blend for these tacos was not good at all, very tart and strong "limey" taste for all of them ....I can eat most anything and I left most of this because I just could not eat it. Huge fail all around and this has not been my experience in the past, so not sure what is going on. On the up side the margarita was very refreshing hence the 2 stars. They used to have drink specials but that has all gone away but states they are working on new drink special .....not sure why it is taking a year to...
