I get a large coffee 12 sugar and 12 cream multiple times at multiple locations throughout the day all over Winston Salem...... I def only go to this one (MLK WS) out of pure convenience because I live near it but everytime I go in this store I dont feel valued as a customer. I work very hard, and I'm a customer service manager so I pay attention to how employees treat the customer be ause at the end of the day if it wasnt for us paying customers the workers wouldnt have a paycheck!
So the other day I go in because drive thru was very packed and not moving at all. Of course with so many customers in drive thru and me rushing a bit to get to work I figured it would be packed on the inside also. To my surprise there wasnt a soul in there! So I go, had to wait a sec for someone to come take my order(older lady with no hair; she was sweeping the lobby), then after the lady takes my order for my coffee she walks back to the lobby and proceeded to finish sweeping the lobby. Wasnt polite, didnt tell me someone was going to make my coffee ..... nothing! So I look at the coffee pots that are in my view and theres a completly full pot and a half a pot made but I'm assuming the cashier was upset or something so she didnt want to make my coffee..... after about 5 mins of me standing there the manager (with dreds) sees the look on my face and ask me what am I waiting for... I tell her my coffee and she goes right to the coffee pot and makes my coffee!
To me as a paying customer that was the rudest experience ever! Not only was I in a rush but I am very polite and friendly about being in a rush. The lady that rang me up was the most miserable acting, unfriendly person I've encountered in a while. I feel like If I'm going to be treated like that i may as well save my money and make my own coffee each morning! Nobody cares about my little $1.80 i spend on coffee but when i get 7 coffees in a day that adds up.... that's why this place doesnt make me feel values as a paying customer. I reccomend only going to this one if...
Read moreI did not personally eat at this location, so I can't really give a totally accurate review. However, I picked up (or attempted to anyway) an order for someone else through the door dash platform; which wound up being a total disaster, and the girl who helped me (both times. since support sent me back again) was just awesome. Honestly, customer service, be it either really good or really bad, is often what motivates my reviews; as well as determines places I will and won't return to. So thats why I'm giving this location 5 stars. I wish I had gotten her name so I could let her managers know that she deserves a raise. She was very polite, had an outstanding attitude the entire time- BOTH times, and did everything she could to help me even though I wasn't technically a paying customer. We have become so accustomed to receiving such terrible service, or none at all much of the time in today's society, that I think people just start assuming that that's 'normal' or 'just how it is'. But its not. Or it shouldn't be anyway. I have always tried my best to provide excellent customer service to all of the people/clients I have served across quite a few various fields of work; however I am only human, and some days the enthusiasm just doesn't want to get out of bed and join the party. On this day I wasn't particularly "feeling it"; this situation was one of many and I started to let things get to me a little bit. I was pleasantly surprised at how much this encounter brightened my mood, allowing me to change my perspective and attitude. I live nowhere near this location; but from now on when I am in Winston I will be coming here instead of my usual. I just feel like people that are making a difference, big or small, should be acknowledged and commended. So I'm doing just...
Read moreAs you can tell by my photos. I'm a frequent customer of MD. I don't always use the app. So I have other orders too. Anyway on 11/4/23. At 5:58am at 36 degrees outside. I was heading to a gig job. I'm super hungry,I'm technically unemployed and homeless. I had 50 cent on me. I'm suppose to be paid $60-70 from the gig job this AM at the end of the job. Daily pay. I asked the manager for a sausage biscuit and I explained my situation and that I buy here a lot lot. Can I get a biscuit so I don't starve and have energy at this one day job. She says no and claims I've never spent at this location at all. Then she put me out in the cold. If I added up all the pennies I've told the cashier don't worry about it over the years. We're talking $20 in pennies alone. And they throw away so much food. You could have taken my change and gave me a long time customer a $2 sausage biscuit. What a cruel thing to do to someone who is broke and hungry and homeless, wow. Update 3/1/2024. The service is super slow here. They let one cashier ring up and run orders. It took nearly 25 minutes for me to get 2 sausage biscuits. And I ordered on the kiosk. This location is poorly coordinated, and the same rude manager was running the show. Ms. Ang....
