This was perhaps the most marvelous breakfast I have ever had. I got a Mediterranean omelette that included all the things you would expect feta cheese spinach tomato. But then it had all the little extra nuances you wouldn't expect. Like not just black olives but Kalamata olives. Which put it in a class of its own. And then as a side dish, I didn't just get grits but I got stone ground grits with this wonderful pesto sauce and goat cheese. Wow, it was off the charts! It might be a little strong tasting for some foljs but it was just the perfect South American touch to a dish that I usually take for granted.
I had a medical procedure this morning and my wife and I were looking for something special, because I hadn't eaten in 3 days. And so we searched the charts and the reviews and wanted something relatively close to us, and highly rated. I'm glad we didn't make the mistake of going to Golden Corral's breakfast buffet. Which in itself would have been a good choice. But we decided we wanted something distinct. We thought we were coming to Miami breakfast. Wrong it is Miam's and Miam is French and stands for yummy. And wow does it live up to its name.
My wife got a simple plate of delicious scrambled eggs. Which they went the extra 9 yards to make those scrambled eggs wonderful with Monterey Jack cheese mushrooms and onions. My wife loved them. Then they serve their own version of hash browns. Which for more like ribbon potatoes and were really enjoyable. The bacon and the toast with stand out and better than you expect. The coffee was extraordinary. And yes they serve espresso and wow did I love that!
Are waitress Bella was one of the nicest and most conscientious perfectly attuned waitresses that I've ever met. We could never run out of anything and she made sure we had everything we needed. Coupled with her Pleasant warm outgoing smile. It sure made the breakfast enjoyable.
And even with me having two cups of espresso in both of us drinking coffee and some extra condiments. We only paid $36 for both of us. I was so impressed that I asked for the manager and gave her a glowing report.
The only negative I could think of is that we had apparently just missed the crowd and I do think they get quite dizzy at times. But that really didn't affect us because we came mud morning.
Breakfast is named after breaking a fast. And why was this a wonderful way to break a two-day fast. It's 49 minutes from our house and we will come here again. If you were any work clothes, I certainly suggest that you do. This goes down in my book as a very memorable experience! .... Check out the pictures and the menu options which I have...
Read moreWe wanted to give this new breakfast place a shot because breakfast is our favorite meal and we've always enjoyed Cagney's (as I understand it, the owner decided to branch out into a new 'concept' at this former Cagney's location). We went on Friday morning around 11:00 a.m., hoping to miss the morning rush and it still took about 25-30 minutes for our food to come out. Our waitress was very attentive and prompt on coffee refills, but I still feel like the kitchen took far too long for relatively common breakfast fare. Neither one of us was ravenous so I was content to wait this visit, but if you're in a hurry it's something you might want to bear in mind.
I got the hash benedict because I love "Irish Benedict" - basically eggs benedict over corned beef hash on an English muffin. While their corned beef hash looks to be made in house and tasted fine, I will say it's probably about 90% corned beef and 10% nearly imperceptible "hash" - If you are expecting the familiar canned style with little cubed potatoes in it, it's not going to show up on the plate. Additionally, the menu described it as being served over an English muffin, as is traditional, I didn't realize until I got to the bottom of the stack that it was actually served over pancakes, which I found to be a very odd swap considering no one had asked me or informed me. My husband also ordered white toast very clearly and we were served whole grain / wheat. I happen to like it so I just stole his toast, but after waiting nearly a half hour for our food it was a bit disappointing that it wasn't correct.
The coffee was a little watery / weak but it wasn't burnt the way diner coffee often is, so if I had to choose between the two I would definitely take what we were served. We noticed on our way out that they have a very intriguing orange juice machine in the kitchen that looks to squeeze actual orange halves, so if I had to hazard a guess I bet they have really good OJ. We will definitely be giving that a shot next time we come by!
Our bill was $32 before tax for a hash benedict and a classic breakfast plate with coffee for both of us. Parking can be a bit tricky, make sure you're turning in the...
Read moreThis was my first time trying M.I.A.M. Breakfast House, and let me tell you it 👏🏿did 👏🏿not 👏🏿disappoint! I first saw the restaurant on TikTok, and the food looked incredible. When I got there, it was exactly as advertised, a perfect mirror image of what I’d seen online.
But the real star of the experience was our server, Ms. Olivia. She was the gold standard of customer service. She helped us pick our meals, gave honest opinions on what she liked (and didn’t), and everything she suggested was top tier.
What really impressed me was her balance….she never hovered, yet she always checked in on us at the perfect moments. Even though the place was packed, she made us feel like we were the only table in the entire restaurant. That level of attention is rare, and she made the whole experience warm, personal, and unforgettable.
When the food came, every single bite was a 10/10…..so good that I wouldn’t change a thing on my order! The prices were very reasonable, and yes… the food disappeared in about 3.5 seconds, so no pictures this time! O and the FRESH SQUEEZED OJ WAS A MUST HAVE!
Highly recommend. I’ll be back, and I’ll be asking...
