Moe's Southwest Grill — Restaurant in Winston-Salem

I have been here multiple times and every time has been terrible. I keep hoping that maybe they had an off day but when every day is off...means this place sucks. Their queso always tastes burnt. Doesn’t matter when I go, they are always scraping from the bottom to try to fill the cup up. Their chips are always stale on top of being WAY too salty. Service is never friendly either, I’ve walked in before and they didn’t say “welcome to moes” but even when they have said it they say it with the least amount of enthusiasm that is humanly possible. I don’t even care about whether they say it or not, but when they don’t really care to say it, it really speaks to how much they really don’t care about all the other parts of their jobs. We used to drive to the moes over by Hanes mall which was further away just because the food and service there was ALWAYS on point. We went so often they knew our names and orders when we walked in. I was devastated when they closed because this location is absolute garbage. I don’t even get a difficult order. I get a chicken quesadilla with dark chicken and cheese. And that’s it. And somehow they still mess it up. Last time we went the chicken had a faint taste of chlorine. HOW is that POSSIBLE?? Moe’s used to be our go-to takeout on nights when we really don’t feel like cooking. Any other moes I’ve been to has always been the same, food is always good. It’s depressing that this is the only location in Winston because this location has ruined my favorite fast...

Ive always loved moes, over the years and moving I went less as my husband does not like moes. I finally made the time to go(althought never to this location) as I really wanted chips and salsa. Order a quesadilla, it was flavorless. Chips were also a wee bit under cooked and 3 out 4 of the salsa tasted like they were turning/off/nasty. This was during PEAK hours 5:30-6PM. Cook staff was friendly enough despite customer ahead of me was somewhat problematic. I appreciate them not taking out their frustration with her on me.

Beside the food not being how I remembered it and subpar, my real issue was with the cashier. Supposedly their self touch payment screen was down, they asked me if I wanted to leave a tip. I don't really like being put on the spot like that but I was going to tip regardless, the cook staff was working really hard. I said, "Sure, ill add a buck tip". Dude hands me my receipt and the tip was totaled to $5. Ill be honest I don't think it was an accident, down to saying the system was down. After reading other comment it seem common place for peoples to be overcharged at this location and I wonder if it is often via tips. The reason I say this is because of his demeanor when I told him I said, "A buck not 5."

I was expecting much more from Moe's than what I got at this location. Typically Moe's is a energetic, upbeat place to be. They greet everyone when they enter and have great, fresh, produce. At this location though I was left feeling a little disappointed. The lettuce used was brown and had pieces of white and red in it. I asked for steak and got a measly 3 slices on my bowl, had to pay for extra just to get enough meat. I wanted a cup of cheese but ended up with a small sauce cup of it with a big bag of chips, way more chips than necessary for that little container. The entire contents of the bowl had melted together from the heat of the food and was just a lump of mess that didn't even look appetizing. The first guy who greeted me was ok he was nice but in a serious hurry to be done with you once he spoke. The last 2 people to handle my food one said nothing to me even though I was speaking to her. I've never left Moe's regretting my decision to eat there until yesterday. I had total regret and had wished I just went...
