I love Mexican food and my boyfriend and I decided to try this tonight. We were big fans of Asian BBQ when the original owners had it. The restaurant looked amazing on the inside! I can really tell that there was a lot of work put into the inside! I had never eaten at the food truck so I am not really sure if it's the same menu or not. I really liked the options available for the meat that you could pick for each dish. I went for Chicken and my boyfriend decided he wanted to try cow tongue. I talked to someone up at the front and asked him for the best dish to try ct in and he told me to get it in tacos. I ordered a chicken huarache. I paid/tipped and was given a slip of paper with my number on it. My experience inside was great up until I thought I heard my number... I have worked in restaurants and I know it is frustrating to be rushed but I was met with obvious irritation from the staff after checking to see if my number was called. I wouldn't normally check on my food because I don't mind waiting but I honestly thought my number was called. I don't blame the staff for being irritated because I know how impatient people can be and it's so easy to assume that I wasn't wanting to wait on my food. My number was shouted multiple times so that I could hear that it was being called kind of aggressively. Again, I understand that things happen that make people assume that they are being rushed by people who don't have those intentions because I work and have worked in the food industry. I do also understand that you don't have to be rude because someone is seemingly being rude. Miscommunication and entitled people who are actually being rude ruin people's assumptions of other people. I was a little thrown off by the situation. The actual food was good... I wouldn't say it was amazing but I would definitely come again. My chicken huarache was soggy. I didn't think my food should be soggy because I live just up the street. The tacos were good and the tongue was delicious! Overall though I feel like it needed a little more meat and flavor. It was just average but delicious if that make sense? I'm not sure if it is what we ordered? Taqueria Luciano's is delicious, clean, and it feels like the comfort street style food that I really like to order. I just expected to be blown away at the flavors and the really beautiful tortilla that I saw in the pictures came soggy. My boyfriend's was delicious too but it was missing something to make...
Read moreHad high expectations here thinking it was going to be authentic. Food quality is really poor especially when compared to price. I really didn't like the food. The meats were all very greasy, fatty and poor quality(specifically the asada and Al pastor). I would guess to say the food was sitting for a while, probably in all the grease from the meat. Maybe it's better if/when they get busy so I would going at lunch time. Being from NY we really want a good taco place so I wanted to share my recommendations to the owner. This would be to cleanup outside the place as well as the inside. It looks kinda trashy with well, trash and junk sitting out back. Cut the bushes and trees around the place to open it up, brighten and live'n the place up a bit. Take the chairs stacked in the front due to covid and put them out of site bc the place looks closed. Reduce the prices or get quality meats. Don't fry the tortillas for the tacos because is too greasy as it is. Steam them. Eliminate all the grease in the meats and make sure the cooks are making it to order and ensure the meats aren't cooked and sitting in grease at all. Also getting some good sauces would be a great touch. The ones we had were red and green and they lacked a lot of flavor. Plus the green sauce was too salty. Doubt the owner or manager is monitoring the Google my business reviews but they should. Place has potential but gives off the going out of...
Read moreEDITED!! I hate that I have to edit my review, but it's a must. Today i went back for lunch, and I am HIGHLY disappointed. When you spend $16 on a burrito, you expect quality. Every single time I've eaten here the food has been great, UNTIL TODAY. The rice was either undercooked, or reused from yesterday. It was crunchy and made it very difficult to eat. On top of that, my burrito was about 3/4 rice a little bit of beans, and barely ANY meat. Whoever was working today FAILED at their job. I paid $16 for a crunchy rice burrito...I am EXTREMELY displeased. It will be a while before I back.
It may seem a little extreme, but due to this failure and especially at this price point, my review is going from 5 stars to 1. IF I go here again and they've resolved these issues, they'll get a few of their stars back, but right now all I want is my money back....and the burrito I was SUPPOSED to get. Absolutley terrible guys...I know you're better than this.
Original Review: "Have eaten here on multiple occasions and the food is always INCREDIBLE! My wife and I eat here as often as we can, and don't plan on stopping any time soon. Thanks for the...
