Hubby’s pre-birthday dinner. One of the only things I can’t and won’t fix at home-hibachi. Of all the Japanese Steakhouses we have ever visited, I have to say, this one had the best mushrooms we’ve ever had dining out. We’ve noticed this place is always packed, so we decided to give it a try. We sat at the bar while waiting on our table. The bartender boasted he could make anything so, Hubby requested a drink that taste like a Hawaiian Punch without actually being Hawaiian Punch. Let me tell you, he totally hit the mark on the drink! I do not care for Hawaiian Punch and it tasted just like it. I ordered my drink at the table from the house cocktail menu. I decided on one called Liquid Marijuana, which turned out to be quite good. Our server and chef were great. The chef made a SpongeBob out of rice. It was super cute. No complaints there. Quality of food matched cost and quantity. Only thing we would have changed was to exchange out the noodles for double rice. We just aren’t noodle people. We happily gave our noodles to the Littles we shared our table with. Their parents were appreciative. The meal ended with fried bananas. They were so very good. We left very full and have lunch for tomorrow. Only giving this 4 out of 5 because we really weren’t wowed beyond other restaurants like this.

The Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Experience ( Dine-in Edition). Some friends and I wanted to eat Japanese food on this day, so we went to Tokyo. We did not make reservations but sat at the bar to have a few drinks before being seated at the table. Max, the bartender, certainly kept us company and entertained while waiting for our table. He was very confident and proud of his capability to make any drink you could desire and wasn't shy with his words on his mixing skills. I ordered a pineapple martini, and with one drink down and some laughs, we were at our table in no time. It did take a while for our waiter to come, and I don't remember a formal hello, but our waiter brought our soups to the table and then took our order. I ordered their special, which was chicken, shrimp, and steak. The meal came with an onion broth soup and a salad. Nevertheless, our chef came to the table and prepared a delicious meal. It's always exciting to see your food prepared right before your eyes and to have the opportunity to take advantage of the five basic senses (touch, sight, hearing, smell, and taste). Would I go back to Tokyo again? I definitely would go back. The food and the experience were good.

Up Date! Things were quite different from last year. Once seated, and our order taken, it took an extremely long time for the beverages to come out. The chef came out before our salads. My wife and myself were the only ones that ordered filet mignon. He gave one of our filets to another customer and mixed there steak with our filet. Domestic beers were on sale tonight, I ordered red oak beer. They would not give me the sale price, said red oak is not domestic beer. Red oak is made in Whitsett NC. That far from an import beer. I'll think twice before going back there. Seems every visit here is great. We average 2 visits a year. Not your rush you in and out Japanese steakhouse we've experienced with others. Chefs interact with the guests well and are very entertaining. My favorite dish is the filet mignon and chicken. Wait staff is great making sure your good on drinks and anything else you may need. Atmosphere is great. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a Japanese steakhouse.

Never in my life have I left a bad review, especially a review calling out a single employee. I know, especially in the service industry, you have bad nights and have to deal with rude customers—but the behavior I experienced tonight was unacceptable. I just left from the restaurant, which I have had many good meals at before, completely flabbergasted and shocked by the behavior of our server. Bailey (#157 on our receipt) was rude, slow, and showed the absolute worst service I have ever seen in my life. It started when one of the people at our table told Bailey she had a shellfish allergy and the shrimp would need to be cooked last in order to accommodate her. Bailey was incredibly rude and stated to the whole table “because she has an allergy, you guys can’t have shrimp until the very end. Don’t get mad, it’s not my fault, but she has an allergy”. She said so in a tone that could only be described as belittling, condescending, hateful, and calloused. She called this poor costumer out so much, the costumer felt inclined to have to apologize to the entire table. None of us were upset, but the waitress continued to berate the table and girl. Bailey continued to come back to the table periodically making snide comments about the shrimp. The chef came out and began cooking, and Bailey was incredibly rude and belittling to him. She said something to him from across the room, and then came up to him while he was cooking, invaded his personal space, and said, “did you not hear me???? I said to wait!!!!” She again was snide, belittling, condescending, and rude. He fell silent, and I believe because of her snarkiness, did not speak to the table the rest of the night. Bailey was constantly rolling her eyes at other costumers, turning around and “deep breathing” and looking all around miserable. At one point, she went behind the latticework right behind our table (we were at the very first table upon entering) and STARED at the chef and costumer with allergy. I don’t mean giving glances; I mean she literally stared with a hateful look for several minutes. She then came behind that costumer, leaned on her chair while standing behind her, and apparently was slightly kicking her chair. She then came around to me, invaded my personal space, and leaned on my chair as well. Meanwhile she CONTINUED to make snarky remarks about the shrimp. It also did not end there. At the very end of this horrific experience, she forgot to pick up one costumers check, and my boyfriend said to her very kindly “he’s got his right there”, to which she got yet another condescending look on her face, smiled a snarky smile, and said “yeah I know thanks”. I have never, ever experienced such horrific service. She was rude to us, every costumer, the chef, and other employees. We have had several great experiences at this restaurant, but do not plan on going back out of fear of receiving Bailey as our server. Like I said, I have never called out another employee—I have worked in the service industry, I know how difficult it can be, but this was absolutely unacceptable. Our food was simply too expensive to be met with such horrific behavior. If I wasn’t in such a hurry to leave, I would have asked for...

Not bad but not great either. I'd have done two and a half stars if i could but i'll be nice and round it up to three.

The parking situation is tough, so come earlier so you can circle the parking lot waiting for a spot to open, unless you get lucky enough to arrive just as people are leaving so you can snag a spot. It's also really tight for turns.

Beautiful decor! Loved the koi pond outside, kinda wish they had that option where you could buy food to feed the fish. Lots of nice little items to look at from Japan in cases but very awkward placement as you have to stand in front of people sitting and waiting to look at them. The cloth banners at the top of the doorways are adorable!

The experience was alright. Our server was nice if a bit slow but then the place was packed! Got our soup and didn't get our salad til our chef showed up which took a while.

Our chef seemed nice and funny enough, he did most of the tricks you expect, except flipping the shrimp tails into his hat. Not much originality, he followed the script pretty close.

The food kinda left a lot to desire. Everything except the salad was bland. The soup was bland, the shrimp appetizer was bland, the vegetables were bland, the fried noodles were bland, the fried rice was bland, my steak and salmon was bland, my boyfriend's steak was bland. A touch of salt helped but not a lot of flavor to anything which i've never experienced at other restaurants like this and was definitely the biggest turn off from coming here again.

We're not sure if we should attribute the blandness to our chef or the restaurant's prep of food. I mean we saw him cooking and it didn't seem like he was skimping on the sauces though it did look like he really kinda skimped on using the butter. It could be because he was so young looking, he's still getting the hang of this but we're not sure. Though i can say our steaks were cooked quite perfectly, a very nice medium rare and medium well. A lot of fat chunks on my steak though..

So not the greatest experience but not really bad either. But not good enough we'd want to go back...

I am not sure how anyone can say that the food here is good. This is hands down the blandest and unpleasant hibachi I have ever had. Vegetables, no flavor. Shrimp no flavor. Definitely no yum in the yum yum sauce as its is just a sweet oddly tasting white syrup. The rice has no egg and was so flavorless. Steak was chewy and flavorless and chicken just tasted like it was drowned in teriaki so at least it had some flavor.

We went on Sat night so we expected a wait however the service was so slow even after being seated. After waiting approx one hour for our table, it took ~15 minutes for drinks and probably 30 minutes to get salads. We waited a full 45 minutes before the hibachi cook arrived to our table. The experience did not improve from there either. My daughter doesn't eat salad, soup or the veggies and when the cook got around to the noodles, he didn't serve her. For whatever reason, he served everyone else noodles but my daughter on the end of the table and then went back to cooking. Not sure if he had misunderstood the instructions on "no vegetables", I pointed at her plate and asked where are her noodles, and he just looked at me and laughed. I pointed again and said she gets noodles and then apparently thinking it was a joke, got one noodle off the grill and put it on her plate. This made me quite aggitated and I tole him she was supposed to get noodles. At this point, he became argumentative with me and said he knew and that I needed to just eat my food. He then served the noodles but kept mouthing off at me asking me what my problem was.

Worst I’ve had period at any restaurant and I will NEVER return to this place. The food was terrible the service was terrible and I am not just ranting about this place due to the incident involving...
