I give the restaurant 5 stars, but the overall experience was more like 0 stars. All members of the staff were attentive and very courteous as I was welcomed immediately. The lost look on my face let the security guard know that I was looking for the restroom and he pointed the way. The restroom was spacious and clean. The host seated me promptly and the waitress took my order. The food was prepared quickly, but I had to change my order from dine in to takeout due to the unnecessarily loud table next to mine. It is 4:30am and no one is here. Unless you just rolled out of a concert and still have hearing loss, there is absolutely no need to talk that loud to the person across the table. It was obnoxious and the conversation extremely inappropriate for a family restaurant. It would've been fine in a dank, smoke-filled biker bar, but not here while I was trying to enjoy my meal. I had my headphones on full volume but still couldn't help but to hear them. It was unbearable. The waitress could see that I was highly agitated and rushed my order to me and gave me a to-go cup for my coffee which I had not even finished (which also is a testament to how quickly the cook prepared my food). It was delicious. So again... 5 stars for the restaurant and staff, but 0 stars for the rude, young, over-tatted white patrons that I had the misfortune of being seated near. I looked across the restaurant at another table with 2 well-mannered Black men who (even though seated at the other side of the restaurant) continued to glance over in amazement at the 3 White idiots that were obviously intent on ruining everybody else's meal. I left quickly after paying for my meal and feel bad that I didn't tip the waitress for her service. However, it is my general practice to only tip for dine in meals, not takeout. Unfortunately, she missed out on money due to the arrogant, obnoxious table next to me. By the way, race has nothing to do with manners or lack thereof. I did need to include the race of the offending table or else many reading this would assume that the rude table had been Black people. And the natural assumption for many folks would be that the table that kept looking over out of irritation and disbelief was a couple of White people. I almost NEVER just get up and leave when my intention had been to eat in. Congratulations to you, White idiots. You did succeed in driving me out of the restaurant. But in the process, you kept the very nice White waitress from receiving a tip that she definitely deserved. I am a Black woman that typically will tip 15% if your service is good, and up to 20% or 25% if your service is great or extraordinary, respectively. I just can't help but see the irony of the broken stereotypes in this review. But at 4:30 this morning, I really didn't want to break stereotypes, or post a ridiculously long review; I just wanted to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThere we're two of us today looking for comfort food and this seemed like best place for the variety we wanted. Immediately greeted upon entering and showed to a table, only one other table seated in restaurant and they were finishing. We were sitting down and I started to scoot my chair up and as I did that, my seat lifted off the chair frame and as sitting I smashed a finger between the metal frame and the seat. It burst my finger open under fingernail and blood was all over my hand. All I got when speaking with waitress on her third visit by table after this happened was if I wanted some alcohol. Naturally I switched chairs since no one else offered and while she was watching and told her I would leave it turned backward to table so no one else would experience an accident as the seat was not attached to frame at all and could cause a fall or another smashed finger. It needed to be removed from the floor, of course, until repaired or replaced. The chair was not removed from other table but turned and slid under for next victim. No manager was notified that I could tell as no manager visited the table. I had bandaids in my wallet and went to restroom (which was in need of attention) to wash the blood off my hands and get blood contained. It was upon my return to the table that I was offered the alcohol. Then during our entire visit, there was continuous loud conversations from boh to foh. No background music and by this time a couple more tables and one with a cute kid that talked non stop. Again no background music, only loud conversations between foh staff and boh staff. After 35 years in the hospitality industry in all arenas, I'll have to say that the overall experience was less than desirable; the handling of my injury was totally unprofessional and below any restaurant standard in my experience. So best I can say is the food was good and I got fresh coffee. Lettuce on my sandwich was wimpy, not crisp, onion rings were all stuck together, and the fork I unwrapped had something black stuck to it. I only used my knife, removed the wimpy lettuce, separated my onion rings and didn't complain. Didn't see any point. Don't know if I'll ever eat there again but it'll be someone...

After my boyfriend and I realized we had been sitting there for over an HOUR waiting for pancakes and an omelette and the people before us STILL hadnāt got their burritos, we just decided to leave.
