This is the most authentic Mexican food that I have found in Winter garden and also the surrounding vicinity. Good prices with a semi no frills location. The food here is 90% authentic true Mexican food. I recommend the carnitas gordita with onions cilantro and avocado salsa. Great stuff I'm all about it. Friendly staff and if you don't speak Spanish most of the wait staff also speak English. EDIT !!! I have been telling everyone about this place for months now and although the food is authentic and tasty, I recently had an issue with my billing. I sat down with my wife and son and ordered the usual but I chose to get the large 32oz Corona thinking I could share with my wife. I asked the waitress for the 32oz Corona and she nodded. Keep in mind the 32 oz. Corona is not on the menu I just saw it displayed with the other bottles. We ate our meal and got the check. The Corona was $15.00. this is something the waitress should have pointed out. I payed for it and still left a 20% tip. I still love the food but this is definitely a black mark on El Alacran and I will not be recommending it as vigourosly as I had been up...
Read moreWaitress with red hair who I believe is the head waitress is RUDE and AWFUL, unfortunately the new girl served me a wrong size in soup and I asked if it was correct size before I touched the soup and she said yes , of course she's new she didn't know and at the end Red hair girl tried charging me $63 for two soups??? I told her I had ordered small and she's like well too bad you ate them and then told me and I quote "if you saw that they were bigger you should've said something" as if I work there and as if I knew the plate size differences?? and even after I had asked before touching the soups if they were correct sizes. She should've been watching and training the trainee since she's manager, too busy talking to the men at the bar. And the big soups only cost $20? So how does $63 make sense for two soups??? If you eat here make sure you double check the prices and what they charge you because they will get away with it if...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place. I went hungry. My daughter picked this place and was happy it had horchata (she liked it) The menu isn't clear for English speaking people but I ordered a soup and 3 taco set with steak & rice and beans. When I asked what was on the tacos the server told me lettuce tomato cheese so I asked her if they have street taco style she said no. (There was an entire topping station in the middle of the restaurant that she never told me about u til I asked for hot sauce) I ordered a small seafood soup but she brought me a big one then said her English wasn't good. I pointed to the small one when I ordered it. The seafood soup is delicious but tacos and rice and beans were just edible with next to no flavor. I asked for fried jalapeños but she brough a grill whole jalapeño. Service was weird. I won't be back. I went around 330...
