Delectable Delights — Restaurant in Winter Haven

We hit up Delectable Delights in downtown Winter Haven on Friday night (March 8, 2025) at 9:30pm after dinner nearby, expecting a sweet end to the evening. It’s advertised as open until 10pm, and being in the heart of the action, we figured it’d be lively. Nope—what a letdown. Walking in, no warm welcome—just a girl cleaning windows who flatly said, ‘We close at 10,’ like we were already a bother. There was a decent Friday night crowd, maybe 7-10 people in line, but only one girl scooping ice cream while the other was busy sweeping and prepping to close. Waited about 10 minutes to order, which wasn’t awful, but then I asked for a milkshake—my whole reason for coming—and was told, ‘I already cleaned the blender, so no milkshakes.’ Seriously? It’s not even 9:45pm, and you’re open til 10! Our group of 4 got ice cream instead, and it was fine—tasty enough—but two people behind us bailed because the line was dragging. We sat to eat, only to be reminded again, ‘Store closes at 10, so you need to be out by then.’ I’ve worked in restaurants for years—closing at 10pm means staff should be scheduled til at least 10:30pm, if not 11pm, to handle customers properly. Instead, we felt like inconveniences they couldn’t wait to shoo out. I enjoyed my ice cream, but the vibe was so unwelcoming I’ll never be back. Too many ice cream spots around to bother with a place that rushes you out the door. If I owned this shop, I’d rethink those policies fast. 2 stars—ice cream was decent, but the service and...

We were looking for the best ice cream in the area while on vacation visiting our family here in Florida. We stumbled across this super cute place. The minute we entered it was a warm and cozy environment. Decorated super cute. My daughter immediately wanted to run to the back to do their crane machines! I only had a couple of singles on me and of course she didn't get the purple glitter duck of her dreams...lol The crane picked it up and on the way to the prize bin it fell out of the claw! Woomp woomp! Sooo... We went to the counter to start our ice cream order and Rae ( the awesome young lady who was working behind the counter) grabbed $1 out of her own tip jar and gave it to my daughter to try to win her duck! She won....we all cheered...super cute moment and vacation memory! :)

The ice cream parlor had so many great flavors, and cones with lots of toppings on them! We tried The black cherry and cotton candy! My daughter LOVED the cotton candy, she couldn't believe how much it tasted like the real thing!

I visited this location for the first time today, and it’s a hidden gem tucked away in the breezeway. Once inside, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a charming and cozy vibe. There’s even a claw machine in the back with adorable stuffed animals, making it a great spot for kids. Although I wasn’t with kids—just two friends—we all enjoyed the experience.

I tried the vegan vanilla and vegan coconut scoops. The vanilla was a bit disappointing, as it lacked flavor and didn’t have much of a vanilla taste. However, the coconut was absolutely delicious—rich, flavorful, and impressive for a vegan option! My friends also loved their ice cream.

Overall, I highly recommend this spot and will definitely be back to try...
