Jensen's Corner Bar — Restaurant in Winter Haven

Oh where to begin! I rented out the outside patio area of Jensen’s for 3 hours for my 21st birthday party. Before the event even started, a lady named Tinia was the one I was in contact with planning the party. I informed her that there would be a few people under 21 years old & she said it wasn’t a problem they just couldn’t drink, obviously. Everything was fine & we were just ready to celebrate! I’m very easy to please & was fully understanding of rules. So party day was here! The lady, Tinia, I had been in contact with was there & upon arrival immediately came up to me to remind me that there better not be any outside alcohol, etc... Which is understandable! However, what went wrong is the fact that Tinia & a young black haired bartender literally harassed my guests and myself! I want to start with that. I completely understand the rules & know that anyone under 21 cannot be served. I spoke to my under 21 friends & told them to not sneak drinks & lets just have fun. Before the party even started, there were already issues! One of my friends was sitting with two over 21 year olds & had a drink beside her, BESIDE!! Not even in front of & the bartender went to her & caused an issue. Rather than just asking to move away from the friends, or telling the 23 year old to keep his drink in his hand, she came up to me & decided to be rude & tell me of the situation with unnecessary aggression. I apologized & said to do what she thought was best & without reply, she turned & walked away from me mid conversation! After that the lady Tinia was literally staring, STARING at my guests with presumptuous hawk eyes which put everyone in an awkward mood, because who likes to be literally watched like a hawk?! Every like 5 minutes the bartender would come out & walk around & look at everyone (not asking if anyone wanted a drink, just to make the guests more uncomfortable?? Idk) & literally would check the trash can!!! I just can’t even put into words how ridiculous it was! I was in tears, full blown tears at like 7:15 (my party started at 7) They were just being absolutely ridiculous! & for the fact that I rented this place out!!! They were not welcoming or kind! Literally made the first full hour of my party awkward & tension filled... I decided to rent out this place based on a 50th birthday party I attended! It was a blast! So when I kept getting approached by Tinia, every like 3 minutes, I told her that I just want to party with my friends & family! & to please just let us have fun! & I even told her I chose to party Jensen’s because of how fun it was on the birthday I previously attended & that’s just how I want it to be! She had zero sympathy & said “there’s a difference between a 50th party & a 21st” & that’s funny because how about the 50 years olds children? There were a ton of underage children at that event. & my event literally only had 4 underage people, 4!!!! I don’t really fully understand the difference! & finally, on top of all of this the bartenders were mouthy & unkind to many different guests in their establishment. I heard from at least 6 of them that at one point they had to complain due to the rudeness. In conclusion, I am very disappointed in this place! From the non hospitable attitudes to the lack of care for the renters of their establishment, I will not be back! & I don’t recommend renting it out, especially if you’re around the...

Delicious and inexpensive drink specials. Awesome atmosphere outside with the live music. Wife and I had a lot of fun listening to the "Free Whiskey Band." The staff were on point, making sure we were always with a fresh drink in hand. One of them even brought out a sample to try, because I stated that I hated gin. I was pleasantly surprised by how good their gin mixed drink was. Similar to a strawberry hard lemonade.

It started to rain, and the staff brought out umbrellas for everyone who couldn't fit under the covered portion.

Jensen's is a great local downtown spot. There's a lot of history to the location for the downtown area. There isn't really food but I counted that as drinks or cocktail menus. You can order a pizza here. It is not flashy. Which is what the locals dig about it. I don't know if I would try to order when they're busy. We don't really go here for the pizza. It is more like drunk food bc this is a bar. The service is great. Friendly local bartenders that put effort into the drink. Enough to make it good. The espresso martinis are made well.
