Charlie's Frozen Treat Shop — Restaurant in Winter Park

Pretty disappointed with this ice cream store. I got a chocolate, cookie-dough malt. It didn’t have any cookie dough in it at all so it was basically just chocolate and couldn’t taste any malt. The ice cream was about what you could buy from a store and make a malt yourself and probably do better. Location is the sole reason for their success, In the middle of Cooper creek village with no competitors. Also, pricing is pretty poor for for the quality and amount of ice cream you receive. The 4.8 star rating on google for this store is very inaccurate and should be lowered accordingly based on the ice cream solely. A fun stop on our way out of the mountains! The sheer number of topping options was pretty impressive, but once I saw the frozen bananas, I was sold. Not only did they come in different options (I had never had a frozen banana with sprinkles before), but they were half-sized. Have you ever tried to eat a full-size chocolate covered banana? The best thing about this place is the doggos snoozing on the floor, and the Adirondack chill chairs outside. The soft serve frozen treats are not going to compete with upscale scoop shops, but everyone can choose their toppings, so nobody is going away without a brain freeze and a smile. And there are lactose-free options, which is a plus. If you're lucky, you can eat your treat while nodding to live music just yards away in the plaza.
