Came in as a party of 5 on a Saturday around 5:30. The place was already mostly full and they gave us the last table that was available.
We ordered a few different items so we could eat them family style. We ordered the vegetable samosa, steamed chicken momo, cheese naan, garlic naan, chicken Tikka masala, and lamb biryani.
The samosa came out pretty quick and we divided the two pieces up for everyone to try. The filling was very good but the crust was very dense. Not flaky or seasoned.
The momo was forgotten about until I asked about it after the entree's came. The momo was ok. Nothing special.
The naan was fine, nothing to report there.
The chicken tikka masala was pretty good. A little sweet for my tastes but the rest of my party liked it. The portion was right for one person. We ordered it mild because of the kids and that's the way it came. No complaints there.
The lamb biryani was pretty good too. We got it at a spice level of 3 out of 6 and it was good for us adults. Too spicy for the kids. The flavor was fine and the portion was pretty generous. Probably enough for 2 people.
Overall, I'd say that the food was good, not great. By the time we left at 630, there was a big line of people waiting to get in, so beware of a long wait if coming at...
Read moreFood was pretty good Indian / Nepalese - pretty similar to the kind you can find in Boulder (which if you are from the outside is a little bit more bland than Indian restaurants typically found elsewhere, but still good and satisfies that Indian fix).
When we went the service here was laughable. It was like a two 9th graders trying to setup a restaurant for a class project. There were only maybe two guys serving of the whole restaurant and we probably sat for 30 minutes after we were done eating trying to get our check. After maybe 15 we finally got their attention and got them to bring us some leftover containers. At that point I expected the check to come, but it took another 10-15 minutes to get the check after that.
Early on we ordered two gin martinis very dry, i.e., no vermouth. We got back two martinis so dirty it tasted like 50% pickle juice. We asked them to please remake them non-dirty and that we only wanted gin, nothing else in them. 10 minutes later we got back two martinis with half vermouth. We just gave up at that point.
Still the only Indian in town so I can't not recommend going here, but just set the service expectations low and you'll have a...
Read moreWhile I love Indian food, I had never been to a restaurant dedicated soley to Indian Cuisine. This place did NOT disappoint! Making a choice was difficult because everything looked so good. I went with the Daal Soup and the Coconut Curry with chicken...mild! The soup was warm and comforting with a nice hint of cilantro. The Coconut Curry with the chicken was AMAZING! The table also ordered the Cheese-stuffed Naan and it made for a great dipper in my curry sauce. To make it even better, there was enough left over for me to take home for tomorrow! My boyfriend got the Saag, which was chicken with creamed spinach with ginger and holy cow, it was SO divine! Both dishes were served with rice that was a perfect compliment for all the juices/sauces.
The service through out the meal was great. Our server was very knowledgeable and explained the dishes I asked him about. Our drinks were never empty long and the fresh mint infused water went perfectly with our meal.
To end the meal, I got the Kheer, which was basically rice pudding. It was sweet, but not overly sweet, and a great way to end a yummy meal.
Next time I visit I will be getting the...
