I would honestly like to give this place a better review but, after my first time here, I'm a bit disappointed. $30.99 buys either the hot pot or korean bbq. If you want both, it's $35.99. Everyone at the table must ( per their menu ... ) order the same thing. I decided to visit as I had a clipp.com coupon which gave me $30 off. Unfortunately, much of the raw meats in the korean bbq freezer looked like they had been there for quite some time. The foods on the buffet such as the orange chicken, spring rolls, etc. also looked like they had been there for a while. Not many folks at all in the restaurant so maybe this is why the food looked like it had not been replaced or freshened in a while ... ? In any event, it took them an eternity to figure out how to apply the clipp coupon to the final bill so we waited for quite some time while this was all ironed out. ( What I don't understand - for ANY business, not just sizzlin korean - is why one would participate in clipp, groupon, etc. if one can't figure out how to efficiently process the coupon and/or discount ?? ) But I digress -- lol -- I do want to say that the server and the owner/manager were very nice. I just found that compared to other chinese/asian buffets in the area ( think super orient buffet on semoran ... ) neither the food nor the prices were very...
Read moreUnfortunately had just had Zen Dumpling last night in Waterford which was an absolute delight, then coming here, unfortunately cannot say the same. Food was tolerable until the end when we were served uncooked noodles with gelatinous beef slop on top. It was supposed to be pan fried beef noodles, but it was basically a brick of uncooked ramen.
I didn’t eat more than two bites but still paid for it, the server did not apologize and instead asked why it was bad and then stormed away to grab the check.
Will not be returning, was very very excited to have a decent spot near the house to get dim sum.
Post owner response: “This is not the same thing I like from another restaurant” is a polite way of saying that I felt you had botched a really good dish I typically enjoy.
I have had pan fried noodles in the past, I know you are supposed to have decently crunchy noodles and mix them with the sauce to soften them up, I was grossed out by the consistency of the meat and the sauce on top of it, but was trying to be polite in saying I have had a better version of it at another restaurant.
I would not have left a review had the servers response been more appropriate, but decided to based on the poor response.
I think the owners comment on my review probably tells you enough about how our...
Read more2-Hot pot -only: meals $60+ I wish it was great. Especially since It’s a local, new spot. I took my daughter for her birthday. She usually loves this type of menu and the variety of choices to create your own hot pot. Instead, she ended up picking at her food and eating only certain things from her soup… and hating the broth:” Tom Yum” It was very fishy/sour tasting. I had the curry broth and I enjoyed it. The fried items were ok. I also enjoyed the sushi and fried dumplings from the buffet which also had fancy fries, chicken nuggets, spring rolls and other fried items along with meats/seafood for grilling if you choose to have bbq, along with a choice of included sauces and desserts. However, it’s unfortunate that the bday girl did not enjoy her meal. The lighting was very bright, low volume music (not sure what kind) lots of seating, only two other guests at 7pm on a Sunday. Our waiter Jesse was kind and did check up on us occasionally, but we will not be returning. At least we can say...
