While the staff were very friendly and helpful, I do have what I hope will be taken as constructive criticism.
The Pricing: I can't speak to value for money for the loaded fries as I did not purchase any of those variations but $9.95 for plain waffle fries I feel like is too high. It is a large serving and I may feel slightly differently if the quality of fry had been good but sadly I can't say that it was in the top tier list of fries I've eaten.
Quality of Food: Only commenting on the waffle fries and extrapolating from there. The fries were not enjoyable unfortunately. I don't quite know how to describe them but almost rubbery on the bite texture. The overall flavor was just about middle of the road. Are the fries made fresh to order? It does not taste like they are but the order wait time may speak to a different reality.
Wait time: 15 Minutes for a single order or waffle fries. This is what led me to believe that menu items are cooked to order but the overall disappointment at a lackluster flavor profile and almost inedible texture leads me to believe that is not the case.
Staff: The clear highlight of the experience. The staff was friendly and offered assistance with the menu and were quite polite.
I really wanted this to be a good experience and I believe it really could be if adjustments were made. I would happily go back if some...
Read moreMy family and I have been to Holland and we always eat the Dutch fries so when we saw this place, I knew we had to try it! In less than a month, I’ve tried it four times! The first three times, the food was amazing, but the fourth time, it wasn’t as great because the fries didn’t seem so fresh. But let’s talk about the good first, the birria steak box and natural cut fries is amazing, hands down, love love loved that! No complaints here, only rave reviews. The jersey disco fries, amazing!!! The cheese on them things! Woah!! Pull it across the room! The sauces on some of the others though, I think the recipes might need to be tweaked some, as comparison to Holland fries goes. The peanut sauce was like Thai style peanut sauce. (Note to the owner: try to order some in the Suriname pinda sambal/peanut saus! You will not regret it. That’s unique and doesn’t taste like Thai peanut sauce which is not as nice.) Overall, we are glad to see a Dutch fry place nearby and hope for success to the owner because I’ll be back! Oh! And I’ve heard complaints about the time to get the orders out, that’s because they are made fresh to order! Greatness takes time! (I’m not sure what happened on my fourth visit, but I’ll be back and I’m sure it...
Read moreWe visited The Fry Shoppe yesterday, and it exceeded our expectations. The location should do well as it is right next to Full Sail University, and UCF isn't far. Imagine a stationary food truck. It is small and there is no seating, but you can drive or walk up to the window to order and there is plenty of parking in the lot where it sits. The first thing you will notice as the attendant opens the window to take your order is the intoxicating smell. I could barely concentrate on the menu because my mouth had already started to water. We ordered crispy fries with a choice of sauce and additional toppings, a hot dog covered with all manner of delicious toppings, including fries and funnel cake fries for dessert. I will confess that we ate it all as we stood by our car! It was DELICIOUS! And the portions are quite generous. The owner said he was going to set up some seating in front once the permits come in; however, I defy anyone to make it home with any of these delightful offerings intact. It seems they already have a growing fan base despite only being open a little over week as a young couple arrived after we did and had all manner of praises and recommendations. Don't miss out on these unique, tasty, and very...
