Friendly Confines Winter Park — Restaurant in Florida

Party of 3 arrived at 3:40pm and was told we would need to order and eat before 4pm because they had half the restaurant reserved for a game day group. They were unwilling to seat our party and half the restaurant was empty. The server was unwilling to allow us a single table as walk in customers, and we counted 18 tabletops open and unused. Her unfriendly(at a place called Friendly) approach to our request to spend money at their facility has completely turned us off and we will no longer come here. It is baffling that the place turns away paying walk-in customers to leave seats empty all afternoon. I tried calling for a manager and their listed number does not work. This is a terrible restaurant that has no interest in New customers. It's clear they only accept specific customers that stand at the bar and prefer to leave the seated areas completely vacant. I will be telling everyone I know to avoid this Chicago style pub for anywhere else that is nice enough to seat an afternoon walk-in. Just terrible for a Sunday afternoon. The staff member we spoke to was about 5'6", orange shirt, rude attitude, and seemed to be interested in allowing us a seat in this very unfriendly place. What a disgraceful staff.

Edit: upon reaching a manager by phone he cut me off twice and claimed he overheard the conversation but was not interested in my feedback. This place has lost our business for good. I cannot recall a restaurant experience that was more rude and upsetting than the one I had here recently. It started with forgivable mistakes - our server was slow to come over and take our order, and then a while later, we received the wrong dish, and I asked that they bring out the right one. It was after that when things started getting pretty bad. A restaurant patron kept staring at my girlfriend and barking Spanish curse words at her before finally walking out. I became quite hungry waiting for my food order to be fixed, and so I started eating the incorrect one. My server informed me that I wasn't allowed to eat this incorrect order (!) and that it had to be thrown away, after which a manager came over and rather forcefully stated that I had to stop eating the incorrect order so that they could throw it away "for inventory purposes", which does not make any sense at all, as inventory can properly be counted regardless of whether I finished eating the incorrect order or not. I stated that this was unacceptable, but the manager refused to back down. Eventually the correct dish was brought out, and then immediately thrown in the trash because I did not agree to them taking half eaten food out of my hands so they could throw it away. After all this, I was still required to pay for the full botched order, only receiving a negligible discount much less than the value of the incorrect dish. Other than that, it...

I want to update this review. Over the past 6 months, the food has been excellent. Management has stepped up their game and are killing it. The food is finally on par with the amazing service. Great job!

I have tried to make this my go to lunch spot. I have stopped coming here except on the odd chance that they might have improved the food. The bartenders are always awesome and I tip them very well. I believe the kitchen staff could 8care less about their food. I try my best to order extra crispy wings but 8 out of 9 times they come out soft and a bit rubbery. I even make sure to tell the bartender 4 different times while ordering to make sure they are extra crispy. The 1 time I ordered nachos they were cold and tasteless. It would be great if the bartender would make sure the order is correct but ultimately the mediocre, at best, food should be the responsible of the kitchen. The manager cruises around the bar but has never once asked me how was everything. I will continue to go elsewhere for lunch and beers with the occasional stop-in with the hopes that the kitchen actually cares about their food.
