Mediterranean Deli — Restaurant in Winter Park

The Mediterranean Deli is never a disappointment. I joined my brother here today at roughly noon and it was easy to see they were getting some of the lunch rush. That being said, although there were only 3 people working, the service moved smoothly and with great hospitality. Walking in the door you are greeted by at least one of the employees behind the counter. When it was my turn to order the gentleman was pleasant in asking what I wanted while working on putting another customer's order on a plate. He passed my order to the main cook and cashier and I was ready to pay. The prices are reasonable for the amount and quality of food you get with the order, plus certain meals come with a beverage included. While waiting for my order to be completed the gentleman offered to bring it to my table so I did not have to stand the entire time.

When my order was ready I sat in the back room and looked it over. I usually get the gyro but today decided to try another item from the menu. The chicken kabob was served atop Naan with a dollop of tzatziki and a side of pasta salad. As with previous experiences, I was not disappointed with this new option. The chicken was full of flavor and moist. The pasta had a great flavor as well that fully complemented the chicken.

Aside from watching someone carelessly throw their trash on an empty table as they walked by the garbage can, I was once again overly pleased with my visit today. First of all, we never do reviews, but we just had to share this message. We finally made it to Mediterranean Deli after reading all of the awesome reviews. As we walked in to the very small inconspicuous little deli, 5 minutes before closing mind you...we were immediately greeted with an extremely friendly hello and welcome. This was a breath of fresh air especially in today's society where it seems like very few establishments place customer service as a priority. There was another person in line so we started to look at the menu when that customer turned to us and said "this place is sooo good, I drive all the way from Winter Garden"! The owner and other 2 employees were very patient in explaining several items on the menu. Ultimately, we chose that Gyro pita. We can't even put words to describe how fresh tasting, tender, and generous amount of meat it was! Have you ever just had that meal or food item that was so freaking awesome you are speechless, well this was it!! We are so mad we never went here before, but so very happy we finally tried it. To say we will be back is obviously a given, but please treat yourself/family to this unbelievable hidden gem, I promise you will not be sorry! FYI, we tried each place on the Orlando's top 3 Greek/Mediterranean restaurants for 2017, I can't believe this was not on the list! We dropped in on a referral from Gringos Locos and wow we wow wow!! I like this place. Actually, the first few times we drove about the lot looking for parking before driving off, that's one of my pre-yelp standards for judging a place. No parking's probably a pretty good thing.

Short on parking, short on seating, but they're awesome. Clearly they do a bang up business, but don't let the parking or crowds fool you, most of it's take away and the line moves quickly.

Know the menu before go, that's my tip. We weren't sure our combos came with drinks or not until after we ordered maybe because we flew through the line and ordering. No real coaching or help with that either. GF was upsold too. Nevermind that though, everybody was really friendly.

Three salad combo was Awesome. Generous too. My counterpart's chicken hero/gyro geero was so ridiculously delicious I was jealous!!

Appearances might distress fainter types but we found everything to be really clean. Which is what really matters. You can easily get off salad from a commercially perfect looking business. I get the impression these guys own this place and they treat you like you're in their home.
