My wife and I started ordering from here almost a year ago. At first, it was my new favorite place to order from, ordering several times a week at times. It has since gone downhill.
The food is still of great quality, don't get me wrong, but the service has gotten terrible. From inconsistent orders and constantly getting them wrong, to downsizing the size of the salsa they give you and charging to order more. Most of the time, the food was is so good, we just let it slide. However, we got our last straw.
Recently, they've been pushing super hard to use their own app instead of Uber Eats. We wanted to help them out so we did. The last few orders have made have all been incorrect and the LAST order wasn't even ours. When we tried to contact the store for information, they wouldn't answer the phone number given on the website, instead being met with a message saying, "We are no longer taking orders on the phone."
When we tried contacting the Uber driver they used to deliver the order, they did not speak english so they just hung up on us instead of trying to help and because the order went through their app and there was no way to report problems with the order, the only thing we could do was email them and hope for a reply. Meanwhile, we have some other, random person's order.
This is highly unacceptable behavior from a business. To have NO way to contact them if there are issues with your order is unacceptable in this day and age. My review will remain until these issues are addressed.
Reply to business: Yes, you did give us a refund, but that doesn't excuse the inability for us to get our food REPLACED in a timely manner. If there's a problem with an order we should be able to contact your business IMMEDIATELY to get it resolved and possibly fixed or replaced. If your locations are so busy that no one can answer the phone then it means your businesses are understaffed and you should be hiring more employees to help deal with issues like these.
Like I said, my issues aren't with the food quality or anything like that. My problem is that customer service is handled via social media instead of just answering a phone. Something that would be faster and more immediate as we could have told you we'd rather just had our order refired and sent out again rather than a refund.
This review will stand as is until you update this policy and either hire staff to assist with customer service or update your application to make it easier/more streamlined to respond to customer issues. Also, if you're not going to answer the phone, then why list it on the page?...

🌮 Restaurant Details: Name: Quesa Loca Orlando Address: 971 West Fairbanks Avenue, Orlando, Florida
🎨 Ambiance and Decor: The moment I stepped into Quesa Loca Orlando, I was greeted by a captivating mural adorned with vibrant female paintings celebrating Dia de los Muertos. The artistic touch added to the overall charm of the place. However, the initial darkness inside caught me off guard—perhaps due to the black walls—but it didn't deter my excitement for what was to come.
🍲 Birria Consomme: The consomme at Quesa Loca deserves a special mention. It was rich, flavorful, and a deep red color—a stark contrast to my previous Birria experience elsewhere. The consommé alone is reason enough to visit this spot.
🌮 The Birria Quesadilla: The Quesadilla stole the show! Packed to the brim with tender Barbacoa (beef), it was almost a challenge to keep the cheesy, crispy shell intact. This generously sized taco could easily feed two people. The combination of flavors—savory meat, gooey cheese, and crispy tortilla—was a delightful explosion in my mouth.
🦐 Shrimp Tacos: Now, let's talk about the Shrimp Tacos. The Street Taco was a winner, hitting all the right notes. The soft tortilla, doused in the meat sauce (consomme), was pan-fried to crispy perfection. The shrimp was succulent, and the overall balance was spot-on. However, the Shrimp Quesa Taco left me wanting more. It was decent but didn't quite match the excellence of the Quesadilla.
🎶 Background Music: Thankfully, the background music wasn't blaring. As someone who appreciates a pleasant dining atmosphere, I'm glad they got this right. It's the little things that matter!
💡 Tip for Improvement: While the LCD menu worked fine, having the picture menu closer to the entrance would be helpful for first-time visitors. Also, tap water availability would be a plus—I ended up with bottled water. I would not have minded a Soft drink fountain.
👩💼 Service: The cashier, whom I believe was the owner, was friendly and efficient. Good service always enhances the dining experience.
🌮 Verdict: Quesa Loca Orlando is definitely a contender in my quest for the best Birria Taco. With outstanding Quesadillas, flavorful consomme, and a unique ambiance, it's a must-visit for Birria enthusiasts. Just remember to ask for tap water next time! I don't even know if they...
Read moreI love Mexican food. While I am not of Mexican descent, I love the food enough that I've taken the time to learn to make certain Mexican foods at home, and I think I do a very good job, especially with dishes like Al Pastor and Birria (especially quesabirria). My philosophy on eating out is that it's worth it if the restaurant either offers something I can't do at home, or they do it better than I can do at home.
In other restaurants, I've had birria tacos that are about as good as what I have learned to make. At Quesa Loco, their birria is not even in the same universe as what I make at home. It's INCREDIBLE. I got the birria platter which came with four different preparations (a mulita, a birria taco with cheese, a birria taco with very tasty guacamole, and plain birria taco along with the tastiest consommé I've had). My wife and I also shared an order of elote. Everything was delicious, but what stood out to me most was, of course, the birria. The meat was tender, perfectly seasoned, and ample in portion. The consommé added an extra richness to every bite. Then, there were two salsas provided along with the meal, one green, and one darker in color. The green one had a medium spice-level and tasted more acidic, adding a nice balance to the rich fattiness of the meat. The darker salsa was also medium-spice and made from some type of chili, but had a flavor I couldn't quite recognize. It was complex, rich, and delicious. The elote was also perfectly flavored. Before I came here, I was kind of amused at the idea of birria ramen, which they have on the menu. I thought there was no way it could be a great mix. Now that I've tried the birria in general and especially the consommé, I feel quite interested in trying the ramen next time. I'm certain it won't disappoint.
The place itself is definitely not fancy: you order at the counter and are given a table number to find, the décor is fun but somewhat spare, and the music is a little too loud. None of that matters in the slightest when you taste the food. It's a revelation. After eating here, I read the story of how the owners took a chance on opening a food truck and within about a year were able to expand to this brick and mortar location. It's an inspiring story, but the food is so perfectly balanced and flavorful that it's easy to understand why they've been so successful so quickly. It's definitely a new...
