UPDATE: Because I had ordered takeout from here before, I thought the food was great, HOWEVER after dining in today, I have completely changed my mind. The yellow curry was very one-dimensional, with potatoes, carrots and onions. Although I could taste some lemongrass in the curry, it was not very deep in flavor at all, and the consistency was too runny. The Pad Thai, which should be the star of any Thai restaurant, tasted like it was only flavored with sriracha, that's it. No depth of flavor there either, not to mention there were almost no eggs present. Although the server assured me the spring rolls were made in-house, the steamed shrimp dumplings tasted like the frozen kind. Nothing special. Altogether, the experience was very blah. Not terrible, but certainly not great. The service was pleasant, I will say that, although the restaurant was completely empty so I would hope to expect that anywhere that has only one customer there. It's unfortunate.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: I ordered takeout from this place, so I can't say how the dine-in experience is. When I do have the opportunity, I will definitely update. However! I have a few things to say, and some bones to pick with other local favorites:
They make their spring rolls from scratch. This is a big deal-breaker for me, because I have ditched my previous favorite Thai spot since they started buying frozen pre-packaged food. Spice Thai, yes, I'm talking about you. I can taste the authenticity in the spring rolls, and it gives me so much joy to know not EVERY place has downgraded.
They use different veggies depending on the dish. This is something Thai House does not do. Instead they use practically the same veggies for each dish, which seems like an easy way to batch prep. Any foodie knows vegetables make flavor profiles, so different dishes require different veggies for the dish to shine. This place gets that. And I can taste the difference.
I ordered the Yellow Curry and the Phad Woon Sen, which are my go-to's for any Thai place. I must say, I am not disappointed. In fact, as I write this, I'm tempted to order from here again. This place has been in business for quite some time, but I live so close to it now that I was finally able to test it out. I'm so glad I did!
As for the other 2 spots....ehem....sorry not sorry. I only tell it like I eat it. Still like Thai...
Read moreI will never eat at this place again. I was recommended to get the Thai fried rice for the lunch special on New year's day. I love Thai food and I am willing to pay premium price for it . I was thrown off when I tried to order the lunch special and they said due to the holiday there is no lunch special so typically you would pay $11 for lunch but now you're spending $22. There was a Lady host their that I asked why no lunch special and she said do to the holiday that is why. I asked is it less busy she said no why you asked. Like she was hiding something. I said I just don't understand why it costs 20$ and not 11 at lunch hour. She was so rude with me trying to figure out why my lunch special cost so much. On top of that I ordered medium Thai fried rice and that's not what I got. This place is up charging for food for no reason and not getting the order right. I went back to try to get my order fixed and they said they could add more flavor to it but they will not make it again. We all know if you got your food reordered it should be the way you asked for it with a new plate not your left over flavored again. I would never go back to this place...
Read moreI visited this restaurant for the first time today. The restaurant is nice, clean and the waitress(#1)(young female) was very nice. She was very patient and informative.
I ordered my food with specific requests. Another waitress(#2)began bringing out the food for my party. Waitress #2 brought a plate out and repeatedly asked whose it was and everyone said there order was different. Waitress #1 apparently came out behind me(I couldn’t see her) and pointed at me. Waitress #2 walked over to me and I repeated my order to her. She replied with an attitude and said” she said it’s yours”, placed the plate in front of me as I was explaining and walked away. I felt extremely disrespected as the behavior was completely uncalled for. In the end, our waitress was very polite but the behavior of the waitress assisting will definitely keep me from attending again.
I rated 3 stars because the food did look good and the original waitress was nice, but the saying of 1 bad apple spoils a bunch...
