The dude Brian that works here is a joke. Came in as a guest for the third day out of my 2 weeks free guest pass and was told by the kid in front I needed to see Brian real quick. Brian came to the front desk and immediately started talking about their membership promotion which is fine thatās his job. But as a customer Iām allowed to say Iām all good I got a busy schedule and want to get in quick work out in Iām not interested in any promos. He then said he didnāt see me as guest but then we showed him the app with my name as a guest. Iām now asking several times what is it thatās needed from me to get into the gym. He said I needed to go through a quick interview with him at his desk to figure out my workout plan and some extra stuff. I said again my schedule is tight Iām just tryna go in and out is that necessary. At this time we get into a back and forth and Iām constantly asking whatās the issue because I have been checked in twice and havenāt had an issue. He then goes on a tangent about how much I talk and how difficult I am. He tells me that I should reflect on myself as a person because heās never dealt with anybody like me. Then compares him self to police and asked if Iām this difficult with the cops which I responded with of course not but youāre no cop. Finally I asked him if itās my ID heās looking for and he said yes. Then I asked if I need to sign anything and he said yes. So I gave him my ID and signed a consent form which couldāve been asked for in the first place and then I went to go workout. Unfortunately that experience had me so frustrated I did not feel like working out anymore so I left. Before I left I asked for his name one more time. He shook my hand and apologized. I didnāt say anything and I went to walk out the door but he started to call me back to his desk where he wanted to explain him self. I said Iām good bro but he kept talking and I told him where Iām frustrated at is where he started to talk on my character and got disrespectful because I declined his promotion pitch. He said that didnāt happen so I said ok whatever Iām buggin then and started to walk away where he called me again and said to ask the kid at the front desk what happened where I told him I donāt really give f* anymore cuz he was getting me mad. Then he said see youāre cursing and getting aggressive and after that I just left because at this point the Situation was starting to get me really angry and I was starting to yell. I donāt understand why an employee would keep calling back an angry customer to argue. Luckily out this whole situation one of the other workers were really nice and gave my cousin a refund for his initiation fee and membership due to how we were treated. Paying $35-$45 a month with a $75 initiation fee is insane especially to get treated poorly just because you decline a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSince I live about a mile away and am new to the area, I decided to try out the newly remodeled club. I went online, filled out the form for a guest pass, and waited for it to be emailed, as stated. However, instead of getting the guest pass in my email (I checked all my folders), I get a phone call from an "Adam" from this club. I was instructed to just come in and he'd "take care of me". After arriving I was allowed to just go in and take the class I was there for, and instructed to see Adam afterward. When I came out and we sat at a desk, he asked me how the class was and for my feedback on the instructor (since I mentioned to him that I am also a fitness professional). The instructor (Kelly) was at the desk right behind us and I thought it was odd that he would ask for my feedback about her right in her presence. I was very uncomfortable with that. (Of course I simply said that I and the participants liked her class). I was told that I would get a free 5 day pass via email. Again, I never did get the pass, got busy, and hadn't gone back. After a couple of weeks, yesterday I decided to go back, and I brought my daughter. I explained to the front desk clerk that I never got my pass and that I was back to see Adam about it, and take a class. The clerk told us to go in and take the class and see Adam afterwards. After class we came out to see Adam and he had us sit at a desk where our class instructor (Mikki) was already sitting at the computer to clock out. In the presence the instructor he AGAIN asks me for feedback on the class and the instructor, as if she wasn't even there. It was awkward and I said class was good and she had great energy. Then after she left and he sat down, I explained the pass situation to him. He kept repeating himself, saying to check my spam/junk folder which I had already told him I did check, even while I was sitting there. He started getting upset and with a condescending tone, acted like I wasn't being honest, spoke to me basically like a (bad) parent to a child, or like I was someone off the streets trying to get something free. I can only guess that maybe he was thinking that I was trying to get something over on him (?). There was absolutely NO basis for this treatment toward me. I was willing to follow whatever their protocol was, but instead, he apparently assumed otherwise right off. I was shocked that he talked to me, a potential customer, with such a lack of dignity and respect. My daughter sat there with me and witnessed the whole thing. We were both surprised, and that experience just left us feeling bad. It wasn't even about getting their "free" pass. It was about being treated professionally and respectfully. We will NOT be back. There are plenty of other gyms/clubs to go to and be treated respectfully and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe location has some really nice new equipment and there's enough of it that I'm never waiting to use something. The place is clean and they offer new amenities for those who sign up since the re-opening. That's where the problem lies. I was grandfathered in. I've been a member of LA Fitness for over 10 years. This place was my home gym before the renovation. Before the re-opening my wife and I sat down with one of the managers who talked up all the new features we could use, including towel service. It sounded great. I came to find out, however, that while I was allowed to use the gym, I couldn't use the new services unless I agreed to a $15 per month bump up. That seemed like a cheap shot. And let me tell you, they make it clear that you don't get a towel unless you pay extra!
I tried speaking with the managers about this and expressed my frustration that NONE of this was made clear when I was signing my wife up. They didn't care. No one cared and no one could do anything about it. All we got was "sorry, those are the rules."
The service has been consistently unhelpful, and they've done a great job of making me feel NOT welcome there. So we're done. We've cancelled our accounts and will go somewhere else because LA Fitness seems to no longer care about their customers. The place is nice, the machines are nice, it's close to our house, but the service was bad enough that the rest doesn't make up for it.
So long LA. It's really a shame I can't speak...
