Update: They are responsive to feedback! I gave some feedback and they topped off my chowder. That’s why I am re-reviewing this, and I can confirm it hits different on the 2nd scoop- they forgot to mix before they filled my bread bowl. (which, by the way, I should mention is a quite high quality boule). I originally wrote, Overpriced and underwhelming clam chowder in both flavor and heartiness. I loved the ambiance, but for a spot down the road from Red’s and several others, and then the ocean: look elsewhere or I hope they up their game… but now I’m thinking more like, watch out, Red’s. Someone just as good has indoor seating and you can walk up to this one too.

I believe that’s what happened because my table jar is the one closest to the counter actually.
-once you order, you’re committed. But furthermore, you can take a seat and relax. I hope that they start taking orders serially. I really did almost walk out because it took a few minutes of just standing at the counter that being said, several other people while I was eating, got their orders taken in seconds, so I was probably just an outlier.
This place, reminds me of the beehive cafe which I just reviewed in order to make it easier to pop up on my...
Read moreMe and a few others were just walking around Wiscasset when we saw this place and decided to stop for lunch. We ordered the Knotty Buoy, Landlubber, and Clam Chowder. The flavor combinations were creative and well-executed! We didn't even realize the clam chowder was gluten free until afterward--it's that good. The service was excellent, the owner was super friendly and gave us some great tips on stops for the rest of our vacation in Maine. Fun and quirky vibe to the place too, loved all the nautical woodwork and captain-themed...
