Dined at Jolie Rogers over Labor Day weekend with a small group of oyster lovers. All of us agreed that these were hands down the best oysters we have ever had. One member of our group even made the comment that he felt he had never truly experienced an oyster until what Jolie Rogers had to offer. Yes, they are that good.

You won't find a lobster roll here - there are a handful of places for that literally a stone's throw away - but the quality of everything we tried was top notch. An obvious focus on fresh, local ingredients that reflects the beauty of seasonality. Andy was extremely hospitable and highly knowledgeable about his craft as an oyster farmer and preparer, and was happy to answer any questions about his process. Additionally, he's a great source of local info for anyone who may be visiting from out of state like we were.

We were seriously entertaining the thought of going back the next day for lunch if they weren't closed for a private event! Will be back for sure any time we find ourselves in the area.

Highlights for us were: *3 dozen oysters (and their beautiful presentation) - cleanest shucked oysters you will ever have, and the most flavorful too *Scallop ceviche - you know something is good when you order a plate to share, and then everyone wants an order for themselves. Delicate flavors that compliment each other without ever distracting *Drinks - great selection of local and less local beer and wine, and also a fantastic Bloody Mary made with in house sauces *Dessert - locally made small batch ice cream sandwiches. We got all 3 flavors and all of us had a different favorite because they were all so amazing

Edit May 2025: Third time back at Jolie Rogers since my original review and we loved the new additions made for this season as well as some of the other dishes we hadn't tried before! *Chowder - amazing freshly toasted bread that paired well with a good blend in the chowder itself. Not the potato-fest you get at some other places *Salmon roll - possibly our new favorite. Deliciously tender salmon with a great medley of veggies. Love the capers! *Salad - super fresh beets, radishes and greens. Nothing fancy to it, but a good salad should be on the simple side and this delivers *Blueberry cheesecake jar - a fun sweet treat that goes down much lighter than a normal cheesecake. And being Maine, the blueberries...

Knew of their catering from a relative and heard they opened a brick and mortar raw bar so since we were in the area we wanted to check it out and did not disappoint. As others have noted everything tastes made in-house; starting with the Bloody Mary mix- omg so tasty, fresh and spicy! we noted pickle brine and pepper and I immediately thought they might use the pickled serrano peppers from other dishes in the mix. The tuna tartare was incredible; fresh blue fin, combined with cucumber & shallot served atop aioli and sesame oil with chips to scoop... we had a dozen oysters chosen from what what available served with homemade cocktail sauce along with the most unique mignonette: it was more wine forward that vinegar.... our more land loving guest ordered the hummus plate which was obviously made fresh served with toasted bread and pickled vegetables. My only regret was the weather kept us inside unable to use the patio. I hope all those people in line for Red's lobster rolls see what they...

I highly recommend this spot.

Sometimes you find a place that is magical and sets the bar for all the other dining experiences you have. That is Jolie Rogers. It’s a special restaurant situated in a beautiful spot just near 1 in Wiscasset, Maine.

I arrived into town late and had not eaten dinner. They were open until 9pm and as I approached and walked in, the right mood was set because the interiors and decor are clean, modern and simple with the perfect touch of intention and thought.

I had 3 dishes and each was very delicious and fresh. It was the best meal during my month long travels in New England and now sits within the top 5 favorite places I’ve been anywhere in the world.

Each of the team members made me feel comfortable and thoroughly answered any questions I had.

Parking was easy and the service was exceptional… and matched the quality and taste of the dishes.

I’ve been telling anyone and everyone about this place. I will definitely...

Thank goodness for Jolie Rogers! We were some of the suckers next door waiting in line for almost 2 hours for a lunch that almost certainly wouldn't have been worth the punishment, when I took my fourth walk around the area I came across the oasis that is Jolie Rogers. Quiet, upscale, plenty of open tables inside and out, with people just relaxing with a cocktail, no line. I looked at the menu which had everything we wanted, including options for my aunt who is vegan. Their lobster roll was easily one of the best I'd ever had, and I was pleasantly surprised to find the toast with mussels to be even better. Everything was so high quality and beautifully plated. Oysters were fresh as can be and the spicy margaritas hit the spot. I will make a point to come back here the next time I'm in Maine! [photos taken with Light Phone, excuse the lo-fi-ness]
