Village Handcraft is a wonderful, unique shop in downtown Wiscasset: well worth a visit whether you’re staying in town or just passing through! At Christmas, we purchased stunning hand-carved spoons for family members who use them to make Sunday dinners each and every week. And we are looking forward to adding to our own collection of bowls, cookware, and other home goods for our house here in Wiscasset in the weeks and months ahead! Eric is also the nicest guy and an exceptionally talented, kind, and thoughtful artist who shares both his handiwork and expertise with everyone who visits; stop by to see him at work and learn more about his exquisite craft while you peruse his collection of beautiful wares. You won’t be...

Plenty of hands-on time, an abundance of knowledge shared and his willingness to share some fine tools made this weekend fly by much faster than I wanted. Anyone interested in handiwork, carving or artistry in general will be well-served to go to Eric's shop, and even better served to take one of his classes. His demeanor, personality, and above all, his skills as a craftsman ensure a bright future for this young man, and he enriches the lives of everyone he teaches! I will return for more classes, and probably a...
Read moreWe have a cabin in Freeport and make the drive up to this little shop almost every time we're in town. We started by buying a broom (which makes cleaning so much more enjoyable!), but have since bought another broom for family, cute wood vase decorations, and a hearth sweep. We love them all! It's such an adorable space where you can peruse beautiful handmade items, but also learn from the owner along the way. Eric is not only skilled but extremely knowledgeable, and happy to share and teach while you're there. We can't recommend the shop, and his products, enough! Definitely stop in here when you have the chance. Or make a day...
