The staff is friendly enough. And the flavor of the food wasn’t great. If it weren’t for the sauces I probably wouldn’t have been able to eat it, honestly. I haven’t had Indian food since my childhood and so I’m not sure as far as Indian food standards how to rate this. But I’m pretty sure they microwaved the food before serving it to me. The bread had that hot soft but weirdly stale feeling like the crust of pizza after you microwave it. The buffet style rice bar was extremely close to the entrance, like partially in the way of the doorway, so that alone had me choosing not to get the rice. But on a second look it was very unclean. There were no covers to the rice and the rice almost looked partially dehydrated and shrunken off the sides of the serving dish. As if it had been there for over 24 hours. The bathroom was so unclean I felt more sanitary not washing my hands.there was food in the bathroom sink and it was pretty run down back there. The fridge with the beverages was very low stocked and unorganized, almost gave me a post apocalyptic feel. I was going to give this 2 stars but after writing this through and hearing myself go through the cons I’ve decided it’s important for an unbiased true rating. I probably shouldn’t have eaten the food and am hoping I don’t get...
Read moreOne evening few days back I had a strong craving for Indian patties/puffs and my husband instantly told me that Hot Breads should be our go to place for this. I ordered Veg puffs, vada pav, chicken croissant and a veg korma. Although taking a look at the puffs on display I had my doubts because they looked old but I still went ahead thinking that maybe I am mistaken. We had the vada pav there and it was below average in taste. Then we tried the veg puff and oh boy! It was SO BAD! First it was completely cold (even though I asked them to heat it up) plus it was STALE! The oil smelled like it was days old. I was so so disappointed. I had to throw both the puffs in the bin after the first bite. The chicken croissant was average in taste but not stale at least. Next and finally, I came home and had the veg korma for dinner --- although it tasted good but I could smell something old in there--- like onion paste that's way old--- anyway I tried to eat thinking I was mistaken. And guess what? I had FOOD POISONING the next day. Diarrhea and vomiting. I will never ever go to this place again in my life. I am astonished how these guys have the audacity to serve stale food. Please...
Read moreHot Breads has lost its charm, once known for its authentic Punjabi style food, thanks to the awesome Punjabi chef they had, has now lost its reputation. Curries are now having the same tomato base with tons of cream. I used to enjoy their paneer kadhaii ( afraid don’t have photos from the past) just looking at the curry and the signature red and green capsicum used to make me drool. Now the curries look below average and even worst, the taste is not memorable. Same thing for the malai kofta.
What disappointed me further was they served me “STALE” … dabeli, it was smelling horrible the moment I opened the take out box. C’mon this is not fair.
Thirdly when I started with hotbreads way back the curries used to be priced 6.99 and portions were huge, now they are 17 and the portions are probably half. Ofcourse I do understand the macro economics in play with inflation but that is expensive for a joint like hot breads they are not a sit in restaurant with fancy decor and table service. I think they have taken the prices a bit too far.
Not coming back HotBreads, stale food is unpardonable. Can’t give you my business, what a...
