Great tasting pho for any season. Although it’s warm soup it’s luckily light enough to be enjoyed in warmer months. Got the classic beef noodle, added some of the chili oil and lime and it was delicious.
For appetizers we ordered the fresh rolls and quail. They were fine nothing amazing. Was hoping for a higher shrimp to lettuce ratio. Quail was tasty. We also ordered the jungle curry. It was good but nothing to write home about. Recommended sticking to the pho or Thai curries.
Overall a nice small local spot for delicious pho. Not sure if I will return, although it’s close by there are so many great places to try farther north in Lowell. But if you’re in the area and want some good quality Vietnamese food that isn’t crazy expensive, Pho #1 is a good spot.
Only other note is that space is tiny and it can get a bit loud especially if there are kids. A little chaotic atmosphere.
Update:
Came here again cause I was craving pho. Got the Dac Biet again and it was excellent. One thing I love about this place is that the broth needs no add ons. No chili paste or anything. The mint and lime they give is a great touch.
We also got macadamia beef which was so tasty! I love that rice is included cause a lot of places try to be slick.
That being said do NOT get the crab Rangoon. We should have known better but we figured we would try it. Not good. Tasted like a bad cheesecake puff? Stick to the typical...
Read moreWhat a gem of a place! We had lunch here a few hours ago, for the first time, though I've driven by countless times over the years, and it always looks packed inside. Two very nice ladies greeted us and served us, and checked on us to make sure we were happy. The menu is phenomenal, everything sounded amazing, and to get the most bang for our buck we tried the lunch combo specials. They come with your choice of soup and your choice of 2 single small appetizers - which is plenty, because the portion of the main dish is VERY generous! I got what is innocently called something like 'seaweed soup' for mine, and when it arrived it had the most delicate scent and delicious tasting broth, definitely not a generic miso soup, and came with some tender pieces of chicken in addition to the seaweed. Boyfriend got the tom yum which I was a bit envious of - so flavorful, and I could smell how good it was from across the table! He also got a chicken wing as one of the combo appetizers and not only could I hear how amazingly crunchy it was, but he said he could have easily eaten 10 more of them (which means we will definitely be back to do so). The drunken noodles dish I got for lunch was massive, with lots of noodles, bright and fresh vegetables, and lots of meat, no skimping here! Plenty to take home, and great prices to boot. We can't wait to come back...
Read moreThe food here is delicious, no doubt about that. The service from one particular person is HORRIBLE, thats why im giving one star. I have come to this place dozens of times and everytime i have this server it is a bad experience. Today i made an online to go order. I came in went to the counter and told the server at the counter “hi, im picking up for ..” the person then ignored me, walked away, and went to attend someone else. I stayed waiting at the counter and then a man attended me and said itll be 15 min. No problem, i left and waited in my car. I came back in and saw that the first server was at the counter (the one who ignored me) so i stayed waiting by the door for the man who helped me. The server who ignored me came up to me and asked if i needed help, i told them i was picking up and gave the name. That server then came back with my order, wouldn’t give me my food, instead asked me for the last name. No problem. Then while handing me my food, proceeded to tell me “next time go up to the counter.” I got so mad that they had the audacity to tell me that after they ignored me when I did! So I told them “oh, I did and you ignored me, just like how you’re doing right now” because while I was telling them that, they turned around and walked away. The restaurant was FULL and I know everyone heard and saw how...
