We had an absolute blast! For most of us, it was our first time doing an escape room. We ended up having to change our escape room time a couple days before we went and everyone was very kind and accommodating. However we were a bit nervous about being handcuffed haha but thankfully it went off without an issue, not including me initially putting them on way too tight and needing help haha. I believe our helper(game maker? Game host?) was named Rey. They were very sweet, and super helpful! I read some reviewers said that they got clues that weren’t time sensitive but we didn’t have that problem at all! Our person in charge was very attentive and sweet! Will definitely be coming back

I went with a group of 3-5 people for Mystery Mansion, Casino, Runaway Train, Bomb Squad. Favorite was Mystery Mansion, least favorite Bomb Squad. I heard the kidnapping ones are good, especially the 2nd one, but didn't have time to try it. If you have time for just one, either Mystery Mansion or one of the kidnapping ones if that interests you. I would not recommend Bomb Squad. Our room didn't get setup correctly beforehand, and so we were walked through some steps. Kind of a meh experience. Compared to the other rooms, wished there more to it. Casino and Runaway Train have some math, so be prepared for that. Overall, I'm glad I checked out this place.

My boyfriend and I did ‘Kidnapping 2: Are You Afraid of the Dark?’. This was the first room we had done here, but definitely one of the hardest rooms I’ve ever done! Bee was our game master and they were awesome— very enthusiastic, positive, and funny! They made us feel smart even though we didn’t escape because I am useless in the dark, haha! Thank you for all your help, Bee! If we’re ever in the Boston area again, we’ll be sure to check out one of the other rooms and request you as our game master!

I've done a lot of escape rooms in the area, and I particularly enjoyed this one. It was our first time at this location, and getting there was easy as it was just off the highway with plenty of parking. There were convenient and clean bathrooms in the building. We were greeted promptly, and there must not have been a group ahead of us as we were able to go in a bit early. All rooms are private here which is great as we didn't have the max number of players and we prefer to just play with friends.

Obviously I won't give any details on the actual room, but I thought it was a good balance between finding things and solving puzzles, and there were some very clever mechanisms I hadn't seen elsewhere. This place offers unlimited hints and the few times we used one I thought they did a good job not over-spoiling. I do wish the lighting was a little better, at least in the room we did. We ended up using our phone flashlights a lot, particularly to read smaller print and to make sure we were seeing numbers correctly on locks.

The host was super nice, but this is a corporate escape room company, so don't expect them to gush over how it was made or how they came up with a particular puzzle like you might experience at one of the owned and operated smaller escape rooms in the Boston area (of which there are many great ones). However, there is clearly something to having a tried and true tested room for the masses as we had a great time and will definitely...

Went to Breakout Boston on 12/27/17 with my friend Abby to do our first ever escape room. Though we may not have successfully completed the room we started with, (we were so close), it gave us the determination and urge to want to escape from more rooms and so we did! We successfully completed 3/4 rooms in one day, with just the two of us. The adrenaline rush you get during your escape and after is crazy fun!

The staff at Breakout Boston are genuinely some of the nicest and friendliest employees I’ve encountered in regards to any business. They truly care about their clients experiences and enjoy doing what they’re doing. It is so hard to come across a business where employees are so engaging and optimistic and are fully enjoying their jobs.

It goes without saying, Abby and I would highly recommend others check out Breakout Boston! They gave Abby and I such a fun filled day to remember and there’s no doubt in my mind they’d give others one as well.

Thanks to our game masters, Alex, Christopher, and Michael for a great day! Special extra thanks to Alex though for making this experience so fantastic!

Update: 2/21/2023 - My 3 friends and I paid Breakout a visit tonight to play Bomb Squad and though we didn’t pass the room Gabe, our game master made our experience worth while and had the patience of the saint. Looking forward to returning and redeeming ourselves sometime soon!...

A group of us did the Bomb Squad escape room. Our experience levels varied for escape rooms, but we all love puzzles. I was disappointed at how straight-line the solve-path was, but my biggest complaint was all of the unprompted clues we received. We escaped in 35 minutes so it wasn't like we were running out of time, but the Game Master apparently didn't want us to struggle at all to figure anything out. More than 5 times, they told us something we would have rather figured out after a few minutes. We go to these escape rooms to try figuring out fun puzzles, so it was super frustrating to be hand-held without us asking for help. At the beginning, we were told they wouldn't give us hint unless "everyone" agreed we wanted them, but that obviously wasn't true. The room itself was...efficiently put-together. It was very small, but there were a decent number of puzzles within the room, with fair variety.

tldr; The room itself was small but had some creative parts. Experience made much worse by numerous...
