We love this diner. It's technically within walking distance but we tend to drive because we know we're going to be full and happy on the way home. The small, old school diner vibe brings back NJ childhood memories. The staff is all wonderful, we've never had a bad waitress and the guy I believe is the owner is very attentive, he seems to jump in wherever he's needed and you can tell he really cares about running the place right. The food is really good, solid diner food. My boyfriend loves Belgian waffles but this is the only place he gets them because he knows they'll be done right. If you don't get in early for breakfast on the weekend, the place will likely be (righfully) packed, but they also do orders for pick up which we take advantage of when we're having a lazy start. Prices are good, food is great, coffee is delicious and...
Read moreFantastic 9 times out of 10, but apparently don't get breakfast food from here around lunch time! I wanted to take my mom here with me to show her how great it was (I've been here a few times before and loved it) but was bummed to find out that quality presumably drops a lot after morning hours. My waitress seemed a bit careless, I did not get either of the two sides I ordered with my meal at first, and the food didn't come out as great. Not the eggs and especially not the home fries, my gosh. A photo of my "home fries" has been paired with this review, showing it was nothing more than flavorless, overcooked pieces of potato. If anyone is reading this to decide whether to go here or not, I highly recommend you give it a try as long as you get the food that's appropriate for the hour haha. It's usually one of the best places I know...
Read moreI was driving home to Maryland from Long Island and stopped here to grab a bite. It's a small but quaint diner that serves breakfast and lunch items. I believe their sign said that they are now open until 3. The staff was super friendly. I struggled to pick what I wanted because there were so many really good choices. For breakfast, they had eggs prepared in a variety of ways. I did happen to glance at the salads, too. I think there were about 9. A few I would've enjoyed but I had breakfast on the brain so I ordered 2 scrambled eggs with home fries, Taylor ham (Yum!), and toast with a glass of chocolate milk. My boyfriend ordered a similar meal with bacon and a glass of tea. The oval plates were packed with food. We both enjoyed our meals which came to a little over $25. If I were local I'd...
