Solun Tapas Bar — Restaurant in Woodbridge

While i agree with most reviews that the food is good and will say their sangria is great - I cannot stress enough how horrible the management is!! I recently booked an event in their enclosed dining room and despite the fact one of the managers "wrote it on the calendar" in front of me and promised to send me a menu later, it took two weeks and 5 phone calls to actually learn that the rate promised was not offered and I had been "misled" BY THEIR MANAGER, that the event would be much more expensive and a contract would have to be signed. I received the contract, revised it and was promised a final version for signature on a Friday at 11:30 a.m. - that same day I received a second email advising that upon 'review', my event could not take place on the scheduled date because despite the fact it was "written in" other reservations had been taken for that space and could not be cancelled - I contacted the general manager to discuss how preposterous this was and was promised a call from the owner - good thing i didn't hold my breath for that call!!

Thanks to the horrible management and ownership I was forced to reroute 35 guests and a DJ to another venue that was more than happy to accommodate my party's money!!

Please stay away!! establishments run by this level of stupidity should not be frequented as a matter...

Food is good but restaurant is not staffed for even moderate crowds and management is not apologetic. It was a nice day (5pm on a Saturday) so we sat on the patio, which was not crowded and had many open tables. First round of drinks and a few rounds of tapas came out in a reasonable time. 2nd round of drinks ordered while tapas were coming out took 20 minutes or more to come out, long after we had finished all of our food. Midway through that round we asked for our check, which did not come before we finished our drinks. The manager eventually came out and asked how we were doing, and we told him we were still waiting for our check. He returned with the check and didn't really apologize, just told us that too many people showed up. It's a Saturday evening, not sure what they were expecting? I would hate to see what it's like when it's actually crowded! Our cards took a long time to come back, during which we bonded with other tables over how bad the experience had been. We also witnessed a couple of tables walk out after never being seen or served. Our waitress was nice but clearly had been put in a bad situation...

NOT VEGETARIAN/VEGAN FRIENDLY! Warning....do not eat off from this "vegetarian" (btw, vegetarian is spelled incorrectly on their online menu) menu unless you want to get cross contaminated, and sick. I ordered a buffalo cauliflower dish....when I tasted it, it was disgusting- taste just like fish. I ask the waitress if they are frying the cauliflower in the same oil as fish. She comes back, and says- yes they fry the cauliflower in the same oil as the calamari! What?! I kindly expressed to her that they cannot label something vegetarian, and cook it with fish! All she did was apologize (a comp was not offered), they clearly don't care- and they are not going to fix it. My husband and I were both sick after eating this food. They are probably cross contaminating all of the food in that kitchen! I wrote a long email to the owner- no response. They will never get my business again, and I hope the vegan/vegetarian community is now well aware of this establishments practices! BEWARE- spend your money at a restaurant that respects the way vegetarian/vegan food should be...
