Andes International Gourmet Deli — Restaurant in New Haven

The food was great but the service was terrible. First my girlfriend and I walked in to the place and had to get the cashiers attention to place our order with no one else in line. Once our order was placed we had to let him know that we were eating inside because he never asked. Once our food was delivered which I had to go to the counter I noticed we were missing a mac n cheese. Which was supposed to be apart of the combo I ordered. My girlfriend tried to pay for a new Mac n cheese because he claimed the order wasn't placed right. All said and done we had to share a small Mac n cheese.

Nice service. Also when your the only 2 white people and the black people who are serving us ask what nationality the person who came in while we where there is, it doesn't make me feel comfortable. One worker said, "Muslim" and the other said, "that's...

Simply put: one of the best delis that I've ever been to, and I occasionally detour from a more direct route to swing by and to have the pleasure of eating and enjoying from the ever evolving menu.

Whether hot or cold, made fresh to order or prepared in advance, Andes deli consistently provides some of the best seafood (try the salmon!), ceviche, rice/bean/plantain plates, sandwiches, and bean/vegetable salads available. I highly recommend visiting and trying anything on the menu, as I have yet to be disappointed, and I have been visiting their establishment for several years now.

I seriously loved this place. The atmosphere and the customer service were amazing, but the food is what really won me over. I just finished eating and felt like I had to write a review. Everything tasted fresh, homemade, and so comforting.

Even though the menu is international, there are a lot of Ecuadorian dishes and snacks that really stood out to me. It made me so happy to see my country’s food represented in such a beautiful way. I haven’t experienced that in a long time.
