dot's Home Made Ice Cream & Water Ice — Restaurant in Woodbury Heights

I originally gave Dots 5 stars in my previous review but.... service is changing. The icecream and waterice are delicious!!! Yes :) However, I went today to try the new caramel ice coffee waterice (for my husband) and got my usual, blackberry soft serve with marshmallow cream, jimmies and an chocolate nut waffle cone on top. I ordered a medium for both. The cashier handed me the waterice first and I asked if the size was a medium. WOW!!! I hate to see the size of a small. I was then asked to pull up to the fence while the ice cream was being prepared ( strange only one car behind me but I did anyway) I recieved the icecream and headed home. Once home I realized my "medium" ice cream was missing the medium portion and the waffle cone was plain! I understand cost is going up but I rather pay a little extra and receive correct size for my sweet tooth!!! I will give them another try but might need to venture back down route 45 to the other...

My family and I used to go here at least once a week in the warmer months. Lately however, I've been disappointed by the quality the past 2 visits. We visited tonight and I ordered my usual, the Aunt Coco. They gave the tiniest slice of brownie and it wasn't warm at all. When I've ordered in the past, brownie has lined the entire bottom of the sundae tray and it's always served warm. Since it's usually a big serving, my husband and I split it but I couldn't actually enjoy it this time around. What's more, I ordered a mango water ice for my son and it was an entire scoop short from what it normally looks like. I gave 3 stars because I really do enjoy this spot but the young kids working really just seem to be throwing things together and what's served isn't consistent. You just never know what you're going to get which is...

I have passed by this lot a few times in my travels and it used to be an eye sore for Woodbury Heights, but the family who took the place over has transformed it! Now a beautiful building that serves everyones favorite treat! I spoke to the owner when passing by one day; a very nice man and super knowledgable about ice cream (who would have thought there is a ton to know when it is HOMEMADE). His staff was practicing making the homemade delights so he offered me some samples and everything I tried was out of this world (especially the milkshakes)! There is a true difference between homemade and the "other stuff". This ice cream shop is in a great location.....I think these owners have a true treasure on...
