We go as a group after church EVERY Sunday. From just 8 of us to as much as 20, and they are always happy to accommodate (please call ahead). The wait staff is so patient and well deserving of their tip. Even though we may cause a bit of a stir when we're trying to get our group settled, no one acts annoyed by it. The food never disappoints. Don't miss out on the creamy turkey soup, served only on Sunday. It is one of the most flavorful soups I've ever had, besides French onion soup. Recently we had a remarkable waiter, Oktay, who has an incredible memory. He served us the previous Sunday and remembered what most of us had. He even commented on one of our orders asking if they wanted it like they had it the last time and he told them the special way they orderd it. He remembered I had the cobb salad, and a few other folks orders. We were amazed. From hot wings to Ruben sandwiches, from crabcakes to burgers (their fries are the best), from cobb salad to Pene A La Vodka (I think that's the name) there is something for everyone. And, in true Jersey diner fashion, there is a bakery case filled with delectable delights. Go ahead, be naughty, cheat a little with a slice of cheesecake and a cup of coffee to finish things off (whose gonna know? You can go to confession tomorrow.) The atmosphere is friendly and warm. Do yourself a favor and be sure to stop in and tell the awesome manager, Ginger, that Dietra (the other redhead), sent you. Sorry, I only have the one pic (after I took a little taste). I'll try to add more later. But when they sit that scrumptious food in front of you, you're only thinking about EATING it.😊 ENJOY!

Let me dish out the deets on the Hollywood Diner – where the glitz of Tinseltown meets the comfort of classic diner grub. Now, hold onto your hats, folks, 'cause this place is no ordinary joint. It's a swanky oasis in a sea of mundane eateries, with vibes that scream retro-chic meets Hollywood glamour. From the neon lights to the jukebox tunes, every corner oozes with old-school charm. And let me tell you about the squad holding down the fort – the staff? They're the real MVPs. Friendly, attentive, and always ready to serve up a smile alongside your order. Now, onto the main event – the grub. This ain't your grandma's diner fare, folks. This is haute cuisine disguised as classic comfort food. Sure, it might not be your bargain basement breakfast joint, but let me tell ya, every penny is worth it for the quality you're getting.Let's talk breakfast – I went for the classic eggs Benedict, and oh boy, was it a game-changer. Picture this: perfectly poached eggs, velvety hollandaise sauce that'll make you wanna do a happy dance, and ham slices so thick, you'll think you've hit the jackpot. None of that measly paper-thin stuff here – we're talking proper, hearty slices that'll have you singing praises. So, if you're in the mood for a dining experience that's as unique as it is delicious, head on down to Hollywood Diner. Trust me, folks, you won't be disappointed. It's a taste of old-school glamour with a side of culinary excellence – what more could you ask for?

Overall, a very nice experience. My boyfriend had nothing but bad things to say about his prior experiences here, but after a good meal at a different diner owned by the new ownership, I talked him into trying it again. The waitresses were all sweet, and we were seated and served quickly. I got the Hollywood Burger and my partner got a paddy melt. For the most part, the food was great. It WAS underseasoned and the fries were a little more tepid than I'd have liked. I also wish the egg on my burger hadn't had a cooked solid yolk. But my boyfriend was adamant that it was so much better than anything he'd had there in the past. I'm holding a star back for for dirty the inside is. I know they're remodeling and this complaint will be null soon. But there were big dust coils in the lighting fixtures over our table. The bathroom lights were just as gross. I understand they inherited these issues, but the fact they've been running it in this state since they bought it was kind of off putting. That said, we'll be back. It's nice to have a diner in our neighborhood. I'm excited to come back for breakfast once the inside remodel is finished!

The fries and mozzarella sticks have downgraded BIGGGGGGG TIME!!!!!! I’m currently sitting here as I write this review and made it aware to our waiter (who is great) but told us management only listens to reviews, not actual staff or the complaints of the patrons as they’re sitting in the diner itself, so I’m writing this review as we wait for our entree (in real time). This is a LOCAL DINER, so it would make sense to stick to the stuff people came here for repeatedly such as crispy breaded fries and big mozzarella sticks with actual flavor. Very disappointed they are stripping away a LOCAL place of its loyal customers favorites and replacing it to basic cheap food found anywhere. It says crispy fries on the menu, yet you took away actual crispy breaded fries? Sad the owners are stripping it from its integrity w/ the claims of “making it the nicest restaurant in the area”… it’s a diner, so just change the name at this point because its no longer the local diner people have visited for YEARS, unfortunately, our last visit :(

response to owner: I'm glad you talked to our waiter and are stating the conversion I interpreted was incorrect, I know what the exchange was and it was 100% what I stated: do we have to record our conversations to prove the review was accurate? The exchange was exactly what I stated "the owners listen to REVIEWS, not staff or in person patrons..." as you stated yourself, the solution was that management would replace our fries, the complaint WAS made and the fries were well done for the entree; they still weren't great compared to the previous ownership - it's not negativity, its FEEDBACK from customers who spend their hard earned money at your establishment. Did the waiter also tell you we sat there for 30 + mins waiting for entrees to be brought out because he forgot to place our order and came back to get our order again... and we continued to wait due to that delay (when it was not busy) and we still gave the service 4 stars because I'm sure it was an honest mistake and our server was awesome as I stated previously. And I didn't even put that in my original review, which most people would not excuse. The mozzarella sticks need more seasonings/salt/something to bring out flavor, it's a downgrade in my opinion due to lack of flavor which is still not negativity, it's a review and just because someone has been doing something for 30 years, it doesn't make them amazing at it, just state you're clearly not looking for any constructive criticism, only for praises and "good jobs". It's obvious from your reply you only want 4/5 star reviews and 0 bad reviews with the claims of calling it negativity. All the money going towards renovations, I'm sure there are great upgrades that are much needed but it IS being stripped of its integrity which is sad for locals who have been coming for YEARS. If people are spending money at your establishment and specific things have clearly changed which are a downgrade (an opinion), it's not negativity, its...

I’ve been eating at this restaurant since I was a child. My grandparents would take me there practically every week. I’m 37 years old now if It’ll let you know how long ago this was…

a couple months ago we ordered a take out order and when I entered, the hostess asked if I needed to be seated to which I Answered, “No thank you, I have a pick up order.” She gave a look that made me feel uncomfortable and turned away, Real fast. Now I move on to pick up my order and the hostess that rung me up asked “if I’d like to leave a tip” to which I replied “No.” She sucked her gums as she finished the transaction with a sigh.

I told my wife after that experience we never going back, but this morning we decided to place an order for pick up again for breakfast Being that we have two twins that are only seven months old, it’s kind of difficult To find time to do these things yourself. Well, I forgot about the bad service we had last time apparently.

She called in the order, went through an elaborate explanation of how she liked her waffles and sides, etc. And was asked to be placed on hold for one second. Next, a completely different person answered the phone and said “how may I help you” to which my wife replied “I was already placing the order with someone else.” And the person replied saying “Well, the original person you were speaking to is busy so how can I take your order?”

The appropriate response should’ve been; “I apologize that she did that, I will be more than happy to help you.”

At this point, I stepped in and told my wife to forget it we will make our own food here save our money and hopefully learn our lesson this time.

Just because you do renovations and put flashy lights on a building doesn’t mean you give good service.

I’m sure that I’ll get some kind of snarky reply to this review just like every other negative review I saw scrolling down The List. That only shows that you do not take your customers experiences and opinions into consideration, and that you will continue to go down the path you are going, which the more it happens will not lead to a good end.

UPDATE: you never tried to call me back.

Also to be Frank, if you read my whole review, you know that this isn’t the Only bad experience we’ve had. I can mention others if you’d like. Managers should have de-escalation skills in situations such as these, and I did not feel as though I was being heard so that is why I ended the call.

The next time you “come on to pick up where the other waitress left off“, maybe you should announce that instead of just answering the phone “Hello, thank you for calling Hollywood diner How may I help You“. Maybe then we might’ve actually knew what was going on as opposed to just being answered by someone else as though they knew nothing about the phone call already being handled. As I mentioned above in my...

We have lived in this Area for 6 years now and Hollywood Diner was always a Staple for us. We always came up for breakfast on Saturdays or Sundays, when we didn't feel like cooking dinner we would pack up the family and head to Hollywood always greeted by the owners who were super nice and extremely accommodating. They made you feel special apart of the Hollywood family prices were always kept reasonable and the food was always delicious. The staff was always friendly and happy to see the returning families etc basically Hollywood was always packed because you felt extremely welcomed.....

Fast Forward to today and whatever company is going around buying all our precious diners just to ruin them with a corporate make money on every single item you ask for scheme while destroying what was great quality diner food.. The place is never packed anymore parking lot is never full. THE PLACE LOST ITS SOUL.... everyone up there seems miserable which was never the case it just seems like everyone is going through the motions anymore feels like another one of the cookie cutter dime a dozen corporate restaurants that fails at everything that once made it great...

Me and my family will unfortunately no longer be a patron at this once favorite establishment...

(Additional you asked for it and Google doesn't give an option to reply)

My 7 year old ordered pancakes and asked (as he always does) for one sausage one piece of bacon we were told no and we would have to order a 5$ side of bacon if he wanted both.. as if one piece of bacon was a back breaker for the restaurant who cooks 100 pounds of bacon every morning....... And you keep saying prices haven't changed prices haven't changed but forget I've been going here for 6 years. Alot of the prices haven't changed you're correct but the charges for things have so .75cents for green peppers and 1$ for onions 5 dollars a side for bacon or sausage that all has.... yall flat out ruined the breakfast potatoes with that cheap tasteless hashbrown mix when it use to be fresh potatoes but yall charge the same... The only thing Hollywood has going for it is the nice red head lady who manages it during the day she's a sweetheart and is awesome. Now I wasn't gonna go in on you like this but you replied and you guys can say what you want but your parking lot tells the story better then any review can. You use to be lucky to find a parking spot now you can park practically at the doors any day of the week.

"Prices haven't increased" I spent 70$ for breakfast that use...
