IF I COULD GIVE NO STARS AND LEAVE A REVIEW I WOULD. This review is way overdue since our most recent awful experience at zeeks is the 2nd bad experience we’ve had in the last 6 months. Without going in to too much detail of our first bad experience I will say we asked if this was a pet friendly location for the outside seating and we were told it was not, only to find ourselves taking our day back home and then waking back to find another couple had been seated and allowed to keeps their dog while they ate their food outside just like we had planned on doing so. But in our most recent visit which was on 9/1 around 6:30pm we arrived to zeeks and noticed right away that they were busy. Not only that we also noticed that they were very, very short staffed which is understandable and very common for many restaurants nowadays. We waited patiently for approximately 20 minutes but no one came to check in with us. We were about to get up and say something but we noticed a gentleman from a different table get up and talk to the only one waitress asking her to take his order. We thought this would cause the waitress to come tal our order as well especially since we had actually gotten to zeeks before the gentleman who approached her. To our surprise the waitress was lied right back inside and ignored all the other tables including ours. We then walked in to let her know we’d also like our order taken and commented on the fact that she had taken dry order of a table which had been seated after us. The waitress in a very rude tone said she was trying her best, and that she was the only one there. We told her we understood and that wanted we just wanted to be helped in the order that we arrived which is what’s fair. She then said there was no way she could have skipped us because she was taking cate of everybody. This is a big problem for us because despite seeing her with our own eyes she practically called us liars which was very upsetting. I decided to walk away from her and just leave the establishment, no need to make a scene and besides Pizza Coop which had pizza equally as good, better prices and even more at better service is just walking distance for us. We should have learned the first time but after being loyal zeek clients for a good decade I think it’s safe to say we will not be coming back despite being residents of the apartment complex that zeeks is located in. The convenience which is so hard to turn down us what brought us back but after this terrible experience we will no longer be coming back. If you are looking for good Pizza, awesome drinks, great price and staff that is not rude just go to Pizza Coop and save yourself a bad experience. I’d have a bit for faith in zeeks but after writing them a review directly after our first bad experience no one ever replied or followed up so it’s safe to assume zeeks ownership just like this one employee does not care about their customers. I will miss your dragon pizza but not worth it to be called a liar by rude staff. Last comment, another reason we kept going back was because of a gentleman who wild tend to us. He’s typically on the bar side but also tends to tables. Him alone this place is worth going back, unfortunately the rest of the staff and the ownership are not at par which his standard. Zeeks, you should really take a moment to learn from this gentleman, it could help you out a lot. One last nugget for zeeks owners (not that they care) you shouldn’t let your staff drink on the job or drink elsewhere and drop by afterwards and start serving yourself and your partner drinks from the tap while clients are still there. Maybe have your fun after hours when...
Read moreMy wife and I visited a few days ago (Friday night 1/15/21) and had a bad enough experience to share, so you can decide if this is the right Zeeks for you and your family to visit (I don’t think it is...). It’s almost a week later and the annoying experience is still on my mind (and my wife’s).
We were promptly seated (outside) and were given menus. THREE tables were seated after us and all of them not only had their orders taken but also RECEIVED their drinks before we even had our drinks order TAKEN. Right off the bat, what is up with this? It seemed like 2 of the tables were parties of locals (like people who lived in the apartment complex), but come on - serve people in the order they're seated - don't play favorites. Then, after waiting for 15 minutes (maybe 20) to be further acknowledged, I finally just went up to the bar and told one of the servers what we wanted, because we were sick of waiting to have someone come around to our table. When we wanted our second round of drinks, I again had to go up to the bar because, even though the servers were serving the other two tables in our outside area, every time he and she would come by our table on the way to the other ones, they failed to recognize our waves for help or our empty glasses. What is this, 4th grade? Serving 101 is check on your customers! Especially when you mess up the first interaction. Ugh.
Next, the big finale - the pizza arrives and it's lukewarm, bordering on cool. It's obviously been sitting there waiting to be brought to us for AT LEAST 10 minutes, if not more like 15. It was old and cold. So, their solution isn't to remake it, but to “refire it”. It came back 10 minutes later and it was "fine" (palatable), but not the hot, fresh, delicious Zeeks pizza that we're used to (make no mistake, this location makes the pizza amazingly delicious - we’ve had a few here before and one to-go and they were all great, but if it’s just sitting there cooling down...). They ended up taking the pizza off our bill, but that’s not a solution - that’s an apology. We'd have rather paid for the pizza, but actually have received a HOT one!
The bottom line: they have a customer service issue at this location. A server problem. This is beyond “Covid related” or “temporarily understaffed” or “someone is out sick”. They just aren’t observant, attentive, or really all that friendly (unless they know you). That’s our experience after several visits.
This is the only location in 10+ years of Zeeks pizza across the greater Seattle area that we've ever had a problem with, but the complete lack of attention to any semblance of normal customer service expectations here, especially when COVID is going on (shouldn't you appreciate each and every customer in these times, and treat them like valued tip payers?!) it's one we don't plan to come back to. The Kirkland and north Bothell locations have always been great, with friendly service and hot pizza. I guess we'll stick to taking our business to THOSE locations, since they have well-trained staff and management. If you choose to go this location for dine-in, don't say we...
Read moreA friend of mine recommended Zeeks Pizza, so I was excited to see this location open up closer to home. Last night was my first time (at any location) and I was disappointed with the overall experience and value. I'm having regrets now, wondering if I should've tried one of the established locations for my first Zeeks experience.
I called in trying to place an order for pickup but was on hold for a good 6 or 7 minutes, so I hung up to place an online order instead (which is what the automated recording recommended).
Overall the online ordering process went smooth. Walked in 10 minutes later to pick up the Chicken Club that I ordered and it was conveniently just being brought to the pickup counter...pretty happy at this point.
Upon arriving home I discovered they had forgotten the side of Ranch that comes with the Chicken Club. Although it was disappointing, I was not going to make the 20 minute round trip back for it.
The pizza itself was overall very disappointing. One of the reasons I was excited to try Zeeks was because I had read and been told they have "quality" ingredients...and quite frankly for a $26 medium pizza I would hope so. The chicken seemed like it was highly processed and cut into cubes in a factory and the bacon bits on the club where about non-existent (I forgot it was supposed to come with bacon as there were so little). Overall, the pizza toppings were sparse, not something I had expected for the price.
For those of you who frequent Zeeks, I'm wondering if this is the typical Zeeks experience or simply a rough start as this new location works...
