Since my first visit unfortunately my experiences have only gotten worse. I went back a couple weeks later with a friend and a girl sitting at the corner of the bar tells us to sit wherever we want and she’ll be with us in a few minutes as she’s finished with her lunch… 10 minutes later she returns to duty. Her demeanor throughout our visit was disinterested and bored.
A couple weeks later I return again and the gentleman serving us this time from the bar area wasn’t so much rude or impolite but more unprofessional, maybe a little too casual for my personal taste it kind of reminded me of a bartender at 11 PM just chilling with his buddies at the bar except he wasn’t working at the bar.
And today, I decide I wanted one of their delicious pizzas (and they are good!). I order in advance on their website where has options of time to pick up to which I put down 345 I hit place order and then I look at the receipt and see at the top it says don’t pick up until after 140, this worried me because the receipt said nothing about 345 so either I pressed something or there was some kind of glitch in the process. So I immediately call the restaurant to which I get a voice message that is just a brief description of how to handle picking up your order during Covid. I hear a beep and leave a message saying who I am what my order was in the situation and clarified that I will not be picking it up till 345 so please do not make it right away as the receipt may be saying and to please return my call to confirm you got the message. Then I see there’s an option to communicate through text as far as getting notifications so I allow that expecting to hear from someone to which I never did. Hoping all is the best I’m driving to pick up my pizza around 345 and around then about five minutes short of my destination I get a call from the restaurant, a female introduces herself and says I have a pizza that’s been waiting since 140 to pick up. I replied that I called and left a message explaining the situation and that it wasn’t going to be till 345 I’d be picking it up and that there was some kind of mistake in the ordering process to which she said OK we’ll make a new one and she hung up. Around five minutes later I arrive call the number on the parking spot till notified that I was there to pick up my order, and I’m told they’ll be right out. An older blonde gal comes out with my pizza and looks frustrated I roll down my window and she said that they do not look at their messages until some specific times and that I need to keep calling until I directly get a hold of somebody. My reply was simply OK, but at this point I’m pretty upset that I’m reprimanded for not blowing up a restaurants phone to clarify possible confusion and avoid this whole mess that I’m explaining to you right now, as if it was my fault. I asked for confirmation I did not get it the restaurant did not get any form of communication back until last minute and unfortunately I do not think this place is any longer worth the good food with the constant lackluster service I receive when I go which disappoints me because I am very proud of local businesses and always try to be loyal and support. Needless to say this last experience was embarrassing and highly disappointing, I will never knock their food as it is delicious but they really need to do some mystery shoppers or something to improve their quality of service before turning off other people as I have been. That last females confrontational attitude towards me was completely unreasonable and unprofessional, and also it indicates she must deal with this sort of issue enough that it annoys her. 3 out of 4 visits had me encounter not so friendly of service leaving me feeling like they only want certain...
Read moreI have been a fan of The Pizza Coop since they opened in Woodinville, but had a really bad experience with the online ordering service. I have complained about the service before, so the owner has always told me to call first, which I did, and as usual, the line was busy. So, I ordered online and waited for the email that would tell me an estimated time it would be ready. In the meantime, I ordered from another restaurant in the same mall area because the verification email took about 10 minutes to get to me. Our noodles down the way were going to be ready about 7pm, our pizza wasn't going to be ready until 7:30. I called the Coop and got through this time and I asked if there was a chance I could coordinate the pick up for the pizza with my noodles. I asked politely if there was a chance I could get the pizza moved to 7:15 to support that effort. I was told in no uncertain terms that they had a full restaurant and they didn't see any reason to do that. I said I really wanted to order from them, and I was hoping they could accommodate me, but it was an absolute no. I asked them to please cancel my order and I was told, "yeah, that's good" and they hung up. I really try to support local Woodinville, but it may be worth the drive to go to Kenmore or Juanita to pick up Pagliacci. At least I always talk to a person and they are always pleasant.
There is a silver lining to this post. Within a couple of hours of my writing the above, The Pizza Coop called me and apologized for how I had been treated. I believe they were sincere, so I went down, had a beer and discussed the online ordering process and the phone call with them personally. I appreciate them hearing me and their pledge to work on improving their processes. Was happy enough with how things went that we took another family with us last night to eat there. Enjoyed great pizza, cold beer and great relationships. ...
Read moreWas really excited for this place, but had the kind of experience that makes it really hard to justify going back. Ordered 2 pizzas to go while heading over to the liquor store to browse, was told it'd be 30 minute wait. No problem, set a timer for 35 minutes, do our browsing, head back over. Get there right as live music was starting (speakers were up too loud and the singer wasn't great but that's neither here nor there) - there were like 5 or 6 people trying to get their pickup orders and no staff was acknowledging them or helping, and when anyone would get a hold of someone they would be snapped at and told to wait and their name would be called when the pizza was ready. Waited twenty minutes until finally getting a hold of someone who actually listened and took our name to go check, the pizza had clearly been ready for a while and was almost cold.
Alright, so we're already knocking off a star or two for the service, but all sins are forgiven if the pizza is good, right? -The "cooper style" aka Detroit deep dish meatball pie ("Bo's Knows") was good, just cold. -The thin crust "Pizza in the Summer" was the worst pizza I've ever eaten. According to the site "Garlic olive oil base, arugula, grape tomatoes, fresh mozz, balsamic drizzle on top" our pizza came with no arugula and very little balsamic, so it was just dense cheese, fake garlic, and whole cherry tomatoes. The two pizzas were $60 together which added insult to injury.
They keep one extra star due to the cooper style crust being good and the meatballs tasting nice, and a tiny benefit of the doubt for it being a Saturday evening. Maybe would have had a better...
