Year round sushi, but also year round winter. I was once advised by staff, to bring in a winter coat in order to eat comfortably. The climate control for the building is apparently off world, and no exploration missions to the outer rim are anticipated in this lifetime. I suspect when we begin colonizing the moon, this delicious seafood eatery will uniquely positioned to take advantage of space climate. and, if they can get good sushi in Woodland, I know they can get good sushi on the moon.
Also, the one roll on the menu known as A-Bomb, is marked "extremely spicy"... and I will confirm that is the case. I wouldn’t say medical intervention was required, but if you have any self-respect and aren’t physically conditioned for the repeated slap in the face that comes from not just the build up of spicy food, but the long lasting, thoroughness of the scorch, then this may not be a good menu pick for you. But, if you do order it, and you do hate yourself for it, then please think of these cautionary words you ignored, and feel free to return for a thumbs up on...
Read moreWhile I'm no stranger to good Japanese cuisine, I haven't had it in a while so I was looking for a tasty spot to satisfy my taste buds. After a quick search on Google, Jinju Sushi in Woodland had a good rating. Surely this must be good, right? Well, not wanting to delve into deep subject matter, I came away with... Ermm, how should I say this.... I wasn't flat disappointed, but due to its good Google rating, perhaps I was waiting for rapturous and taste bud scintillating food. I didn't quite get that but then again, it wasn't bad by any means. Average is a good word to describe it. I had the $11.50 lunch combo and chose the spicy tuna and California roll. I got a little salad and what equates to a bowl of rice. Add a soda, and the total tally was $15.00 dollars. Is $15 bucks a lot for lunch, well, yes and no; for that sort of money though, I would expect something that's just better than average. Enough whining! My suggestion, check it out for yourself and make your own...
Read moreDO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE! Walked in by myself to get dinner just after 8:30pm. Sat myself at a table as the sushi bar was filled with people having a good time and enjoying their meals. The waitress walked over and asked if I had a to-go order. I said no that I just wanted a roll. She said they were technically closed but asked the chef if he’d just make me a roll to go. The chef then yelled at the waitress that “when we’re closed, we’re closed!” I couldn’t believe how rude he was to the waitress - especially since the open sign was still lit up, there were no closing hours posted on their door and their Google page said they closed at 9pm…. I told the waitress that I would just leave then. As I walked out the chef again yelled at the waitress “when we say we’re closed, we’re closed!” Horrible management and horrible actions toward the waitress. DO NOT SPEND...
