We normally stay out on the other end of town, but found Staybridge, as we had IHG points. It looked brand new. I will say that after a full day of transcontinental travel, we were looking forward to a good nights rest. When we pulled up to check in and unload, we noticed about a dozen kids having their way with the lobby. The screaming and yelling was so loud my wife had to ask one of the kids to be quiet, so she could hear to check in. There were literally kids running all over and even jumping from couch to couch in the extended lobby area. If we were not so fried, I would have packed up and headed out to another hotel. However, we asked for a higher floor room away from the noise. It helped... the room is nice, but the craftmanship of horrible. There was still masking tape on the floor molding, the new protective plastic on the fridge. The toilet would barely flush, and when it did it leaked out the seal on the bottom. We had to remove the shower heard to get any water. The bed was good and we slept. In the morning, I went down to my car. The elevator had empty Mod Pizza boxes, and pizza partial-eaten slices on the carpet. The lobby coffee was wonderful. But there were people sleeping on al the couches?? When we could not find a blow dryer, we called down to the desk, and the young lady said she would check. We heard nothing back... oh well, lets get on the road. I am thinking this was a perfect storm, but wow. We brought up the zoo-kids to the young lady at the desk, and she said.. "It's the parents". Well yes it is...shouldnt you say something? is what we thought. I get kids are kids...I coach youth sports and we travel, but the adults have to take over at some point. All lobby drama aside......the room needs some work. Someone may have a good stay here, I see the one review is Excellent. Our experience was not great and may have to remain at our go-to on the other end...

Read moreThe check in process was a disaster on 7/26. Check in time for our room was supposed to be 3pm, but it ended up being after 5pm by the time we got a clean room (the first room we were assigned hadn’t been cleaned by housekeeping).
When we arrived I was told it would be up to an hour before a room would be ready, due to the fact that they (the employees of Staybridge Suites) were understaffed, per the front desk person. I had intended to put my toddler down for a nap as soon as we checked in, but without a room available I asked if my toddler could use the couch in the lobby instead. The front desk person was accommodating and agreed to watch our luggage at the front while I got my little one ready for a nap.
Around 4:25pm the front desk person informed me that room 330 was ready for us. When I got to the room, I was confused because the bed hadn’t been made and the trash hadn’t been emptied. After checking the bathroom, it was clear the room had not been cleaned by housekeeping. The bathroom floor had wet towels and the shower was still damp.
I called down to the front desk to tell them room 330 had not been cleaned yet. I was instructed to come back downstairs and wait for another room.
A little while later I was assigned to a room on the 4th floor, but there was no acknowledgment or apology from the front desk for the inconvenience. When I asked if this situation happened frequently (no rooms being clean/available at check in), I was told it only happens when they are busy or short staffed. I felt bad for the front desk person, who avoided making any eye contact when I received the new room key.
The positives: The room was quiet and had easy access to the stairs (my little one loves going up and down stairs). The breakfast buffet had a good selection and the check out process was...
