Absolutely wonderful experience here. Came with my partner to have dinner with her parents and had a great time. I work in food service so I have high expectations but I was truly happy with everything. The ambiance was wonderful. Elegant lighting tucked and strung across old timber hanging from the high ceilings, creating a warm glow off the old brick walls. The extra tall booths gave us a real sense of privacy as we dined. The service was great, our server was prompt and friendly and she new the menu well, gladly answering any questions we had. All the food was delicious, we shared some appetizers that were presented well and perfectly portioned. For my entree I got the fresh tuna special with a black pepper crust and cooked to medium rare with spaghetti squash and rice. It was perfect. Everyone else also loved their dishes and we all left extremely happy. It was a great experience and I'd definitely come back again. In fact we did. The next day we grabbed another app to go while we were in the neighborhood. Couldn't resist the opportunity to try their chicken and waffles. So delicious I'm willing to let slide the mix-up of them losing the order and finding it was sitting ready all along. All in all I'd recommend this place and will definitely be coming back if I find myself in...
Read moreWalking in to the bar at Morgan's on Main looks promising. The bar offers a sizeable array of spirits and a decent range of low to higher-quality wine. It appears to be a fine dining establishment. Unfortunately, looks can be deceiving. Dinner is served only in the bar and the main dining room is solely used for overflow on busy nights according to the staff. While steak and lobster can be found on the menu. You'll find mostly Applebee-type fare on the menu. The menu is slathered in overly seasoned passe food trends. The steak is brilliantly prepared (assuming a sous vide)with good technique. It is the way to go here. The cocktails disappoint, only because it looks like a trained and talented mixologist would be working the beautiful rustic bar. Appetizers for us were fried ravioli with a flavorless red sauce, brussel sprouts in an overly sweet balsamic reduction. Overall we had a nice time. Service was ok, with focus on getting the job done rather than guest experience. Honestly, I did have a great time with my friends. I sense there is better chef in the kitchen who has tied hands by what a less purest or adventurous client base requires. There is tremendous potential for this establishment situated in the heart of the best farm to fork region...
Read moreI will start by saying our experience was over all positive. And we would 100% go back. We are from Napa Ca. which has amazing dining. We dine in Woodland occasionally when we , or a family member is flying Sacramento Airport. It took almost 15 minutes for us to be greeted at table by server. But not a deal breaker since we each needed to use the restroom. Once our order was placed the food was flowing nicely. Server was great considering how busy she was. We started with mushroom fries, YUMMO!! Also pull apart bread with jalepeno cheddar mornay, it was bland and a small portion for the price, the bread and butter that was no charge was delicious and warm with lovely butter!! And charred brussel sprouts with bacon, good flavor, but not charred near enough !!! We all enjoyed our entrees , Prime Rib, Steak Salad, and Brussel Sprout salad with a steak skewer. However steaks were all ordered Medium Rare and were really all Medium, but not a deal breaker because they were all delicious! So i would personally pass on brussel sprouts if you like the really roasted char. And pull apart bread ,...
