Ate here at the newer location since 20 years ago. Went because of the reviews since Woodland Asian food is really limited. Panda Express chain is really most consistent. Now family owned Treasure Dragon Main Street Woodland has the top spot. We has the two most mentioned signature dishes, Honey Walnut Shrimp and Orange Chicken dinner combo. There were huge portions, freshly cooked and tasted delicious. Our tab was $70 including food, beer/wine, and tip. There was enough food left over for another meal at home I can't figure out how they can serve such portions and still make money. My favorite Chinese food, though, is still the main restaurant at Cache Creek Casino that still has original recipes from Frank Fats Sacramento. I highly recommend both for residents and travelers.
Note: if you're looking for great sushi, JINJU SUSHI, Pioneer Street, just off Main, Woodland is excellent and fairly priced. Fresh fish is from Japan but has limited selection of the sushi mainstays. Otherwise, In and Out Burger...
Read moreThe food and the service are both great; however, I can only give them three stars because of the value for your money. Specifically, their lunch "specials" are not so special anymore, which only includes the main dish and rice. Many other Chinese restaurants also have lunch (and dinner) specials but, in addition to the main dish and rice, also include chow mein, soup, egg roll and maybe even a small salad. Treasure Dragon used to provide a small cup of soup with their specials; however, recently excluded it, even though the menu still shows it as part of the meal. When I asked about the change, the waitress stated the restaurant needed to cut back on expenses but would include a cup of soup for an additional $2.00, which is about 22% more than the meal itself. As a customer, I could understand raising prices overall on the menu, but to cut back on an already skimpy meal seems like a poor management decision as you would lose customers in...
Read moreTreasure Dragon was recommended by Sarah at Holt Solutions, Woodland. We were greeted by a smiling gentleman I assume is the owner. At our table we're extensive paper menus which were fun to look at. Hubby ordered Mongolian Beef, while I asked for Beef with Sriracha Sauce, extra spicy. Just a few minutes later, our meals brought. To put it mildly, we were shopped by how much food was on the plate. Our waiter saw our shocked looks, and he said, 'That's a lot of food, isn't it?' That was an understatement. My only complaint, and that's not really complaint, was it the food was absolutely not spicy enough, but, I know how to add spice when I get home with the leftovers. I understand the reasoning that a lot of restaurants won't make the food extra spicy, because some people can't handle the spice that they think they can. Would I come here again?...
