I placed a mobile pickup order scheduled for 5:23 PM. Upon arrival, my boyfriend and I were told to park and wait for our food. We waited until 5:50 PM — nearly 30 minutes — before my boyfriend went inside, only to find our completed order sitting forgotten on the counter.
While this delay was frustrating, the more serious issue is what happened with my food. Two Whopper Juniors in my order were modified to have no ketchup and no tomato. I have a severe tomato allergy — though I did not input this in the app due to the lack of an allergy section, I did remove the relevant ingredients. I do not react to invisible cross-contamination, only to actually eating tomato or tomato-based ingredients so I wasn't worried.
I quickly looked at both whoppers, since its VERY clear when someones put my allergen in my food (unless you try to scrape it off and hide it from me) and did not see any CLEAR signs of tomato or ketchup. After eating one Whopper Junior, I noticed a small amount of red residue on the second. Upon closer inspection, it looks like ketchup had been applied and then scraped off before serving it to me. This is not an honest mistake, scraping ingredients off of food after realizing the customer ordered it without that ingredient is a deliberate, deceptive act by your staff, if it occured as it appears it did.
As a result, I have now ingested my allergen and that will likely leave me sick for days. This isn’t just a customer service issue — this is a serious health and liability issue. I would have been understanding had it been a genuine mistake, especially since I did not indicate an allergy, but I cannot accept intentional concealment of an ingredient I requested removed, this is not okay even if it wasn't an allergy. Customers remove items everyday for many reasons and your staff should NEVER assume that a customer would be okay with them scraping an...
Read moreI immediately regretted my order as soon as I got to Burger King. I arrived 10-15 minutes after placing my order and patiently waited inside to pick it up, at the same counter where one would order food if they were dining inside. Nobody greeted me, except to say rudely that I was going to have to wait and then running off to yell at a coworker before I could finish responding. I waited for maybe 15-20 minutes before anyone even looked at the area where I was standing. All of their attention was on the drive thru, which was backed up. I wasn't expecting my order to be ready right away, but the workers made me feel like my presence was an unwelcome burden, and I felt uncomfortable standing there, listening to them interact with one another.
The employees seemed stressed and overworked, and they were not treating each other with respect. It felt like a toxic workplace with mean women yelling at one another for making mistakes or for not having enough of something. They are definitely understaffed and clearly could use several more employees. However, I would not want to work there, so I can see why they can't get people to stay. Eventually someone entered from outside, clocked in, and figured out what I was waiting for. I will probably never go to Burger King again, since the food was not great, but the customer service experience...
Read moreWoonsocket is terrible. You would be hard-pressed to find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. But. The lady with the glasses and the speech impediment who I always see at the counter during the day is very polite and sweet, and she gets the clowns in the back to stay mostly focused. Then tonight I went there late for the first time in a couple years. The young darkish skinned guy (I described him like that because I am bad at determining ethnicities and I don't want to offend anybody) who seemed to be in charge was also a pleasure to deal with. While I was there he dealt with several other typical fast food restaurant issues, a bunch of them all at once, and they still did not mess up my custom Whopper rodeo cheeseburger. The staff seems like a handful, but the management seems to have things well under control. Legitimately the best Burger King I have ever been to. I would not have said that just a couple of years ago. This location used...
