Actually i am residing in RI for almost 8 years and I been visited almost every indian restaurants in and around RI. I never scribed any negative or low comments with anyone during my 12 years of my abroad food touring though low quality food i have tasted some times. But this one, Mehfil had leave me with no choice, but sharing the original and worst experience.
We first tried the Appetizer and onion kulcha. Its taste good indeed since the appetizer have a sweet blend.
Then we served with veg dum briyani and chicken dum briyani after a mild spicy pre-order. The vegetable briyani in other places usually comes with carrot, cauli flower, potato, peas, beans, etc. But the one I served with, was just a plain cooked basmati rice with no flavors and the worst part is, the veg dum briyani had a very few countable diced carrots and few green peas. Thats all. I asked the front desk Mister, is this plain biriyani or veg biriyani. He said it is veg biriyani and he replied that due to mild spicy you ordered, you don't see any vegetables. I never order a masala biriyani, but I ordered vegetable biriyani that it supposed to posses vegetables. But it served with rice and barely no vegitables. Then he goes, IT IS WHAT IT IS. I never seen anywhere the answer and attitude of its kind.
Next, the chicken biriyani was just a chick biriyani that the leg piece is smallest ever i had seen throughout my experience that the portion barely with 2 tiny pieces. Not only the quantity, responses, but the food quality makes people upset and this restaurant need to be reported to the US Department of health, Food safety inspection services as well as USDA food compliant.
End of the story, the front officer mister don't show any regrets though I conveyed my deepest bad experience as it was my first dining with them. Owned people must revist the policies, SOPs, and employees if they want to sustain the complex market. Otherwise, god bless them.
Update: April 03/ 2023 - The next day after consuming chicken briyani, i had a rest room urge 5 - 7 times which is unusual. I quality of the food i questioned and assumed yesterday was right that resulted in...

It's a new restaurant located in Woonsocket..
Ambience: Decent dining place for friends and family.. It has around 10 tables.. So it can accommodate 40-50 ppl ~
Our Food orders : We ordered Gobi Manchurian, Chicken 65, Kona Seema fish fry and kalmi kebab as starters
Mehfil special chicken biryani and goat biryani as main course
Of course with desserts - Mango lassi, Rasamalai, gulab jamun and soda..
Review ( Basically my view ) : Gobi Manchurian was tail made perfect, it was so well cooked and the right amount of sauce and well blended veggies and garnished very well.
chicken 65 is crispy and justified the name (most of the places I don't get crispy 65 , like pakoda/pakora). So this is really good.
Kalmi kebab was too good ( ordered spicy)- It's juicy chicken wings with Indian spice....
Chicken was well cooked in biryani and special briyani tasted well
Goat biryani is good (goat tenders were well cooked )
Overall we had great lunch !
Please specify the spicy level while ordering..
We like the food and service, so this place will be on our list going forward..

Read moreI work so I can eat here. This place delivers authentic food of quality quickly to your table. I prefer dining in because the food fresh and service beats takeout by miles, but know if you do get take out you will be taken care of. The food stays warm and fresh enough to have a great experience. The service is attentive and is genuine, nearly every-time I went they provide a complimentary item. How often do you see that? I ask the waiter what to try next and I have yet to be disappointed. The prices are justified when you taste and see the quantity of the food, I need a personalized point system at this point.Their culture is beautiful and welcoming that I feel like a old friend. My advice to the people reading this is to get out of your comfort zone and try something new, it wont kill you. You will be enlightened.
