TJ’s Restaurant — Restaurant in Wooster

We secured TJ's Catering for a wedding and received a confirmation on the wedding date and we selected the menu. Three months later, a few days before our test taste, the representative sent a message (NOT a call, cowardly), that they "didn't realize" the wedding date was on a Sunday and they CANCELLED our catering reservation for the wedding!!!! We wasted 3 months of time on them, trusting them for our catering. BIG MISTAKE! This is how they should have handled it to have avoided this review...Company owner to his employee: " You made a mistake not checking the date and the day of the week, but you confirmed the reservation and for the reputation of this business, we will have to eat any additional costs to honor this reservation. We will NOT cancel on this customer!" But NO, they didn't handle it that way, so here we are sending this warning to not trust TJ's for your catering needs. Don't be duped by their pretty website. They only care about themselves. (I actually think a better catering account came up for the same day so they cancelled us to make more money.) Let this be a warning, do not use...

What an absolutely terrible experience our group had this evening. While we understand the service industry is short handed, the way we were treated tonight was beyond unacceptable and was very easily avoided. Our waitress Emily was barely at our table, and when she was, she never addressed the issue at hand - that our food took almost 90 minutes to come out, and it was only 5 adult meals. She could have checked on us, gave us updates on when our food would be ready, etc instead the one time she stopped by she only asked if we wanted refills for our drinks and said our meal would be out “in a second”. We received our meals approximately 35 minutes later, an hour and a half after we ordered. After we received our meal, which after all this time came out lukewarm, she came back once, and asked if we got everything, an odd question when she could clearly see we had our meals and should have asked how our meals were after all that time. She even had the gall to ask if we wanted dessert. This was our first time visiting the restaurant after moving to Ohio, and it will most certainly...

Omg. We’ve eaten here in the past and I remember it being good, but we only got some apps and a burger. Their taco from the taco crawl in 2023 was really good too from what I remember.

Anyways, this evening we got entrees for the first time and they were phenomenal. My husband got the NY strip and he’s more of a ribeye guy, but he said it was the best strip steak he’s ever had. I tried some of his mashed potatoes with the steak juices and I can say the flavor was great. I got the Cajun shrimp pasta and I was worried about it being a little spicy just because heartburn and pregnancy, but it was perfectly seasoned and probably the best pasta I’ve ever had at a restaurant to be honest.

Atmosphere was clean, quiet (Tuesday night) and the waitress was amazing as well.

We are already planning our next trip! So mad we’ve lived in Wooster for years and haven’t...
