Bread is fresh from a local bakery, French fries are crisp and delicious, the garlic sauce like at most places is the best sauce they have.
Customernserivice is great, there is always someone at the front happy to see you and prepare food. Let them know if you want it spicy.
The food has potential, they have the equipment, they have the knowledge, they have the recipes for success but I cannot say they have achieved. Hands down the burgers are the go to at this place for the price point and what they add into it, it's perfect for a sample to what a meal will offer. The beef shawarma is good! Crisp, thicker cuts, pieces of fat that ooze out fatty oil and keep it all moist, it stood out because the meat was cooked amazingly but besides that the taste of spice or flavor was not there. The beef Kabob has a bit of spice and flavor, it's cooked well and tears great as you rip pieces off in a bite. The chicken which is usually always the safe bet in most places was the worst. Chicken was bland and even the oil offered no flavor, everything around and besides the chicken stood out as okay but the chicken was only edible with sauces. Please add more seasoning to the chicken as well as salt, chicken shawarma.
I hope in four months time they change it a bit by adding in just a bit more flavor and tweaking the recipe.
E: To the owners, I can no longer find your reply. If you do read this I want you to know I will be back. I try to give most places two tries as some days just aren't good or the timing isn't right. iA I will be back to try something different and maybe it is the same food but it...
Read moreLet's get one thing out of the way, Aladdin's has the best falafel in Worcester. The storefront small and unassuming aside from the brilliant blue awning above it. Inside, visually it's much the same thing, a small space with a few few tables and chairs and a counter to order at. On the olfactory side of things, the interior is a much more stimulating place. First thing you smell is the fresh baked samoon bread, mingled with the smell of middle eastern spices. The menu is very basic, you can have falafel, shwarma, kebabs or a burger and fries.
The falafel sandwich is where it's at, and yes it's a sandwich, no pita in sight. The restaurant sticks to it's Iraqi roots and serves the falafel and all it's delicious and fresh trimmings(picked veggies and peppers, lettuce and tomato and smokey hot sauce) in delicious, fresh baked samoon bread. The bread is soft and pillowy and perfectly baked, unlike the reheated pita's, which end up chewy and tough, that most middle eastern places serve their falafel in. The falafel is perfectly seasoned and cooked, no dry and crumbly cakes of flavorless chickpeas here, and they have a soft and moist interior around a thin crispy crust.
At $6 for the falafel sandwich, Aladdin's punches way above it's weight when it comes to bang for the buck in middle eastern food in Worcester. The staff are friendly and were happy to explain to me all the menu items and the nuances of the Iraqi versions of the dishes that they serve.
Go, go now and go often, if you love good food at screaming good prices you...
Read moreEverything about this place was amazing! I ordered online and my order wasn't ready for pickup when I went there but man the staff is sooo polite! And it was all worth it because the food was amazing!! I had a big order of shwarmas from them and each one was so big and the taste was authentic and delicious. The shwarams are well worth the price because they look like Aladdin's magic lamp and the bread and meat are just done perfectly. In my life I've eaten at many Mediterranean places and had a lot of shawarmas and this tops all of them. I would highly recommend to try their chicken shwarama and French fries. Trust me, try their fries too! You won't find them elsewhere. They don't have bathrooms there but do have beautiful art work and tables. They have a small parking lot on the left side but no...
