The Raven is a fun place to enjoy local live music, play pool, and meet interesting people. It has an urban, gritty feel. You really feel like you are in the city! It is a classic dive bar. We arrived early. We played some pool. There are 2 vintage pool tables. The men at the pool table next to us impressed us with their rhythmic original rap songs. They were good! We saw a few live music acts. Most notable was a band called The Steelface Circus. The lead singer was probably 10 years old, but he really rocked his heart out. The preteen drummer emoted a surprisingly mature ethos of angst coupled with great skill. #thesteelfacecircus The crowd was affable and welcoming. It regularly features both local and national acts, making it a great spot to catch up-and-coming bands as well as established names. The staff is always friendly, and the owner’s deep knowledge of rock ’n’ roll history makes the place feel authentic and connected to the music.
