This was the church of my youth as I attended the school way back in the 60s. It was beautifully restored relatively recently. For a time, beginning in the 80s, it was hijacked by a group of extreme orthodox, pretty judgemental Catholics. It seems to be evolving back to its roots of helping those in need in the neighborhood and being more welcoming. But until certain leaders leave or evolve, sadly it will remain and feel exclusive. My dream had always to be married in front of the magnificent marble Alter. So you can imagine by the time I married ( 1970 ) they had replaced it with the new look of the time.
