I’ve gone here many times, I always get the oxtail and stew chicken

Today I called over the phone, ordered that combo. Guy on the phone asked if I wanted medium or large, I asked how much the large was and he told me “I don’t know” and his accent was thick and didn’t want to push it so I went errrrkay I guess I’ll just get the large (regardless bc I was really in the mood for their food)

I go to pick it up and the guy charged me $38.

I was shocked at the price but I wasn’t about to be the only white boi in the shop complaining about the prices. So I just took it on the chin and left.

Got home and after eating my food, is what made me decide to leave the review. I feel like that dude def scammed me and I didn’t get the normal amount of food like I’ve gotten there before.

There was the smallest triangle of mac n cheese. 2 bites. You usually get a decent square of it. $38z

Oxtail was terrible. Chewy. Everytime I’ve gotten from it’s been so good. Today I barely ate any of it. $38.

The stew chicken was fine, but both portions of the meat I got were so small. FOR $38?!?! I’m angry if you can’t tell.

Worst offense was he barely gave me any gravy for the oxtail and the chicken too, and I just love putting it over the rice but that too was also dry as hell.

Bad. Bad bad bad. Never...

I would not recommend at all. This place could definitely do better. Customer is umm…an acquired taste. They definitely could use some customer service training. I got to the restaurant and no one was at the front, waited for 5min or so and then started asking if anyone is back there. The lady came out and said “someone will be with you”. The person that came out had a RBF and ask what I wanted and then walked away from me while talking to her to go talk to someone else, multitasking,…ok no. Then I gave my order (Medium oxtail and Ackee & Saltfish W rice n beans) and usually they ask what I wanted for sides. She didn’t. I got my order and came home and open dish and it had a small portion of oxtail (4pieces exactly & 1 was mostly bone), there was a Lot of cabbage and a tiny piece of Mac n cheese. What a delicious surprise! We had two 🍔 cheeseburgers with fries 🍟 (McDonald’s can’t compare!) that were so hot and crispy, the burgers were cooked to perfection and were a yummy delight! And don’t get me started on the 🌮 tacos! Oh so good! Aretha’s Kitchen is the place to go for More mouth watering delights such as 🌭 hot dogs, bratwurst and cheesecakes and Pulled pork and much much more.
