Honestly I can't say enough good things about this "hole in the wall" pub!! I started coming here on occasion while doing my laundry at the Summit Laundry Mat... After multiple pleasant experences this has become a Friday Night Spot! The staff is very pleasant and attentive. The menu is small but full of great options and terrific specials! The best part of this place is the crowd. If you really want to get to know the life force of Worcester and the surrounding towns this bar is the way to do so! So many regulars and friendly faces. Not to mention the fact that the drinks/beer are affordable as well as the dishes. Did I mention FREE POPCORN! They also have a pretty good selection of beer on tap for this sort of place... Usually at least 1 specialty beer, this month it seems to be Sam Adams: Hopscape but sometimes it's Wormtown: Be Hoppy! This place is by no means a beer snobs dream... But it does cater to more than the Bud Light crowd... Even if it's only marginally....

It took twenty minutes for the waitress to come over and ask what we wanted to drink, as she was the only person working besides the bar tender and the chefs. Itās not very kid friendly, as the usuals use lots of vulgar language, and there isnāt lots of selection for a child. I decided on Bennieās bacon burger, which was an absolute hockey puck it was so burnt, and the bacon was barely cooked. My second time going I decided on the cheese stake sandwich, also barely cooked, and rather slimy. The wings are grilled, and I was told they were a fan favorite. As a man who thinks wings should be served fried, I wasnāt pleased with what was given. The overall restaurant was dirty, and the one woman working said she, āforgotā about us she had so much to do around the place. I donāt see this as a place I would ever eat at, unless dragged by the collar...

I was a bit surprised as I was thinking Bennie's was more a a sit-down deli type restaurant. It's not, definitely more of a neighborhood pub and a bit on the grungy side. None the less, I ordered my sandwich from a friendly bar tender and an equally helpful cook as the food is prepared right up front at the bar. I was surprised at how quickly my food was made. Took my sandwich to go and ate it right away in their parking lot. I have to say, it was the best Ruben sandwich I've had in a long time. A very pleasant surprise. Fresh and delicious. Personally I would have sliced the Corned Beef a bit thinner, but no doubt it was tasty. I will be back the next time I get a craving...
