i am aware this place was originally owned by armsby abbie owners. with a display like this you can see how cheap the quality this place is. nothing is made from scratch using recipes I can also tell by the taste. I went to enough places. the owner is lucky anyone still stops in. I know the taste and texture of real scones same as artificial flavors. like taking a cheap muffin batter then adding to it. I know from a while back shortening was used instead of butter. anyone that goes to college for culinary would know this. that oil is made with petroleum distillates basically infusing oil that goes into your car engine and helium balloons etc. Proctor and Gamble came up with that over 100 years ago. the owner should rethink about what they are doing before rushing in.

I can’t believe I was charge $12 for HALF of a croissant. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese? , and also note it had NO CHEESE on it. A short time ago I was given a sandwich that was full size. So I’m in shock that why are cutting them in half and selling to customers without notifying them. You can see in the bakery window as to how big their croissants are. So opening this up had me surprised. Picture may look deceiving. It’s much smaller than it looks. I’ve never experienced a coffee shop that’s cutting them in half. I’m not sure that I would go here again considering the fact that I feel fooled and robbed. Notify customers if you changed this if this is the case. But $12 dollars for half a croissant is ridiculous.

Ok, I couldn’t get everything but here are the things I can swear are divine: chicken salad on croissant, pain au chocolat, spinach and feta on phyllo dough, ham and cheese rolled in croissant , Olive loaf, Avocado toast with a boiled egg on an everything bagel, and cold pressed coffee with coconut and oat milk. I can’t say it enough this is an amazing bake shop. Do yourself a favor and stop by. Great, friendly, chill, service . Laid back ambience and easy accessible parking . Get there early before they run out of their more popular items- though , you really can’t go wrong with anything at CRUST!

Overall, nice experience. We ordered a chocolate croissant, blueberry cheese danish, and a 'coffee cake muffin'. The pastry on the croissant was flaky and light, though a bit oily. When we asked the girl at the counter what kind of muffins these were, she told us coffee cake, though we're pretty sure it was a pumpkin muffin when we ate it. Mulled cider was great, and a good size for a small! We dined in and the atmosphere was nice, though it is small and there was no sign of a bathroom.

I think it would be nice if they had better signage in the pastry case, because I know several people in line asked about what different pastries were - it would probably speed up the line if people knew what they were ordering. I would also have loved to see prices listed for the different pastries as well. For the muffin, croissant, danish, a small cider and small hot chocolate it came...

Food/bread/drinks are great, would've gotten 5* but hours are super unreliable. Love this place and they're 90% of the time super friendly and helpful but pretty regularly they don't actually honor the hours they say they're "open". I'm a regular but I've lost count of how many times I've been burned by them closing hours earlier than normal with no warning. I understand the last 15-30 min wanting to get started on cleaning (though still say kitchen closes at x, store closes at y) but I've showed up well over an hour before closing multiple times only to be turned away. If you're gonna regularly close before the posted time just shorten your open hours. Honestly have a number of other complaints but the food really is that good that I keep going back anyways putting myself through the frustration about 25%...

The staff at the North Main Street do not even offer to help when you walk in, and look annoyed when you ask for help. The West Boylston Street site is always dirty. The counters and tables are always dingy, sticky, and stained with coffee. A rag and a spray bottle of water and vinegar with a wipe down would help, but the place looks like it hasn't been scrubbed down in months. The coffee is a great price but ranges from hot and robust to warm and weak, depending on the day and time of day. The pastries and cookies sometimes are buttery and yummy, but sometimes are dry and bland. The sandwiches range from well-constucted and fresh, to greasy and sloppy. Alexis and Nate should make frequent surprise visits to each of their shops on at least a weekly basis to ensure quality, cleanliness, and...
