This is a very cute little family-owned bakery near Elm Park. The staff are always welcoming when you walk in and the bakery is always clean and well-decorated.
I’m a little thrown by the inconsistency of their quality and texture. I recommend their chocolate or red velvet cupcakes, as those are more moist and come with frosting that compliments the cakes. A lot of the fruit flavored or vanilla based cupcakes and cake slices though are often dry. What I was really excited to try were their guava cake and pineapple cake slices, but both slices were pretty dry with only the frosting and fruit fillings adding any flavor and merit to the cakes. Everything is appropriately priced, but I do wish the consistency of the desserts themselves were a little better (like others who have previously reviewed have stated).
Overall, I’m a little underwhelmed, but it is a nice bakery to go to pick up a couple unique/speciality flavors and support...
Read moreMy fiancé’s graduation was in 2 days, and I desperately needed a graduation cake. I came across this website (Lucy’s cake) and gave them a call. The owner herself was kind enough to take my order despite calling in late for my costume made cake. Went in to Lucy’s cake store and picked up the cake in 24 hours. I loved the way she added all the things and details i asked her to, and the cake itself was delicious. My fiancé and the family loved it so much that it made me come up here and leave a review. I will not write much, all I want to say is that Lucy herself is a hard working woman who works in her store passionately in order to HELP us celebrate our ceremonies and events with so much joy through her dessert. Thanks to Lucy and her team for the amazing cake she made, thoe i got the credit from my family, but the credit goes to her for making a beautiful and delicious costume made cake for my fiancé...
Read moreIt was fine. There wasn't anything that was super fancy or "wow! " about this place, mostly just the decor. We tried the cheesecakes; Reese's, Guava and Passion fruit. The Reese's tasted old and the frosting was "Like a fly in my mouth" (Words from my sibling in christ) and the texture was off. The guava wasn't anything special, at least the baby loved it, but of course the baby didn't finish it. The passion fruit was a little weird but good, but I definitely felt my stomach bubbling after finishing the slice.
My sister had already come once to this place, apparently her experience wasn't that great either. Overall; this place can either be good or bad depending on...
