Terrible from the start. We were pulling into the parking lot and there was a server smoking cigarettes outside. No big deal. I'm a Chef, I get it. Then we get sat down at our table. Like 10 minutes goes by. Now, the server who was just outside going to town on her cigarettes, hand to mouth, hand to mouth, hand to mouth, comes walking in and asks the table behind us if they were ready to order....she had tables that didn't even order food and she's taking a smoke break outside? Then, she comes up to us and asks for our order. First off, she didn't even wash her hands. I watched her toss her cigarette when she was done and walk right in. No hand washing at all. Then, she started to handle our plates, and drinks for our table and her other table that had two girls at it who looked super uncomfortable. Secondly, she sprayed this God awful perfume all over herself to mask the smell of cigarettes...but instead she just smelled like stale cigarettes and perfume that gave us instant headaches. Like perfume that your great grandmother would wear that choked out anybody that got close to her. Then she disappeared again. Another server that was leaving for the night brought my wife her drink from the bar and that drink was terrible too. It was called the Coco Cabana and she couldn't even drink it. The chicken wings are one of the cheapest quality chicken wings you can order from any food vendor and they charged $22.00 for 12 of them. Roughly 10 of them weren't even bigger than my wifes thumb and she has smaller hands than a Barbie doll.
We had to get the hostess to help us because our server was gone again and we asked for a manager. A little old lady came over that didn't speak English and didn't talk to us at all, squeezed out a broken "wait wait" then sent the bartender over to cash us out so we could leave. The hostess and bartender were completely understanding about the whole thing and I'm 100% sure they go through this all the time.
And before anyone accuses me of being racist. I'm not white and my first language isn't English either.
We did notice at that moment our server got sat a 12 top and she was taking their orders. Still doesn't explain where she disappeared to earlier. Probably outside smoking more cigarettes instead of doing her job like the other servers were doing.
And let's not forget that I'm an Executive Chef. I started in the dish pit 20 years ago and worked my way up the culinary ladder at many different privately owned and corporate owned restaurants over the past 20 years and Ive spilled BUCKETS of blood, sweat, and tears in this business with a smile on my face while holding every position in the restaurant business known to man for FOH and BOH. Award winning restaurants, FYI.
No wonder this place was completely empty on a Friday night during dinner time.
Oh, I forgot, the server that was leaving for the night noticed our server didn't even get silverware for us and she brought us some on her way out the door. Very nice of her!
When we were leaving, the bartender did say our server was new. If that's the case then why was she left all alone with no help if she's new? No FOH manager to be found.
I read the past reviews before I decided to post this review and saw that the company actually responds to people that leave bad reviews. They have a lot of excuses in those posts so I'm verrrry curious to see and read what they have to...
Read moreWe got there and sat around 3pm on a Saturday. They had 1 person at the bar when we entered and when we got seated there were 2 tables finishing up. Other tables already left and 3 tables in the area we were sitting were still dirty for who knows how long. The hostess/waitress took our drink order. And then we were pretty quick to place our food order. We asked for 18 wings with wicked sauce , a wicked tater tote w/ jalapeño and sour cream on the side. And baked Mac& cheese. It took 50 minutes and mind you the only other customers left cause they were finishing and then just a person at the bar. We were so excited we finally got our food it was Picture worthy. we started off, trying the tater tots. The only unpleasant thing that I disliked is the side of jalapeños and sour cream. We’re sitting on top of the food in their little containers that everybody has touched most likely with their bare hands, and then I tried the macaroni and cheese And it seemed like chef Mike was a big help in the kitchen with the mac & cheese. The bowl that it was in was so hot to touch and the oil that just ran from the cheese being melted in the microwave was foul and then we have the chicken wings. They looked amazing, but they were frozen to the touch they were stoned cold. We didn’t even attempt to bite into them. Very disappointed I will never go back. I will never recommend this place. I will never give it a second chance, The waitress did ask if we wanted The chicken to be replaced and we told her that we already waited very long for this that we didn’t want Them. For not having many or any customers inside of the establishment and the presentation was nice The execution of the meal Was horrible. And we did pay for uneaten food we just...
Read moreI go to school nearby and decided to try Wicked Wings with my boyfriend. I was a little nervous after reading some mixed reviews but I’m really glad we gave it a chance.
I ordered the boneless combo meal with mango habanero, fries, and a side salad. The boneless wings had a good spicy kick from the mango habanero sauce and came with mango pieces on top which was awesome. The portions were huge. I left with leftovers and felt completely full.
My boyfriend got the wicked smash burger and wings. The wings had a dry rub and he asked if they could mix lemon pepper and buffalo spice. It was so good. The burger was juicy and the sauce made it even better. The chef also gave us a sample of a new raspberry sauce he’s working on and wow, it was delicious. You can tell they really care about what they’re doing here.
We came on a Sunday and our server Eva took great care of us. We were a bit indecisive but she was super patient and sweet giving us recommendations when we asked. She suggested mango habanero for sweet and spicy and gold BBQ for sweet so we’ll definitely try those next time. Eva mentioned she only works Sundays and that her grandma owns the place which is so sweet. You could see her grandma walking around and helping out and everyone looked genuinely happy to be there. You can really tell the love is here.
Honestly, some of the negative reviews seem unfair. It’s disappointing to see people hating on a small local business that’s clearly putting in the effort. Sad to see people’s anger and entitlement get the best of them. Support local...
