This restaurant is not deserving of the 4 star rating it holds. Maybe it did once, but it definitely doesn't now.
I went for Worcester Restaurant Week with a friend at around 6:30 PM on a Saturday. Place seemed busier than the wing place nextdoor but it wasn't slammed by any means. Restaurant has lotto machines and cards at every table, drinks were served in red plastic cups. We waited a little bit to be seated; the hostess kept vanishing, maybe to package togo orders?
For starters we got a Caesar salad and a beef stew soup, which weren't bad. Then our apps came. Arancini and eggplant rolatini. Astoundingly flavorless. The marinara that came with the arancini wasn't bad I guess? We ate them, and then got our entrees before we even finished. The "tornado", a steak smothered in mushroom sauce, and beef short ribs. These are what we came for. The beef short rib didn't seem to actually contain any beef though, and the watery sauce tasted like cheap mushrooms and nothing else. It lacked salt except for the bits of cheese tossed on top. The steak's sauce had the same issue; no flavor, relatively thin. Came with boiled vegetables and gloomy mash potatoes. The steak itself was cooked fine, but somehow that sauce took away even the natural flavor of the beef. Left me with a weird taste in my mouth.
We didn't finish our entrees, paid, tipped, and went to McDonald's. They actually salt their food, what a concept.
It's clear some people do enjoy this restaurant and come regularly, but it was something I'd expect out of going to a classmate's house in elementary school for a play date and being served frozen food on a ZooPals plate in front of the TV. Or maybe a retirement home dinner. Wasn't worth the...
Read moreFood was good and tasty, server was nice and attentive. I love that they have outdoor seating, and if you want the breeze without as many bugs, you can sit at a table with a window like we did. We ordered a kids spaghetti, the sauce was nice and hearty and it was very flavorful, we would definitely order it again. We also ordered bbq chicken wings, they were also good, my daughters very picky and she liked them. We also ordered a pizza, the cheese and sauce was good but the bread / crust was a little tough, i just picked the cheese off and ate it that way. We would definitely be back, id probably try the pizza again. I want to try the cajun ribeye next time.
Their cheeseburgers are good. Their french fries are good. Their bbq chicken wings are good. Their spaghetti is good. Their bruschetta is good (but its the first time i ever tried it so I dont have anything to compare it to). Pretty much everything we've tried here has been good.
I ordered their ribeye steak w the gorgonzola butter or whatever its called. It was seasoned and flavored good but the piece of steak had a weird texture and it was hard. It was weird, I probably wouldnt order it again because it was chewy and hard in too many places. I had to spit a lot of it out. The mashed potatoes and brocoli were good.
Update: we came back again today and ordered the pizza again. Its crunchier and not tough this time, its pretty good. I'd probably buy it again.
Just tried the Bruschetta last night and it was really good.
The potato skins were ok. Idk if they were over cooked or of this is how they normally are but it was ok. Not my favorite though but I would definitely get the...
Read moreI hadn't been to 2 Chefs in some time so earlier today I thought I'd order their Buffalo Chicken Dip because I quite enjoy that appetizer. I went to pick it up, paid, and before leaving checked my order (because in the past they've made mistakes with my orders) and was surprised to find nacho chips in the container. I walked back in and asked the lady/waitress who'd given me my order whether the order now comes with nacho chips instead of the fried pita bread chips that they used to have. She looked surprised herself and said she'd ask the kitchen, because sometimes they run out. But before she could go another waitress passing by said they hadn't had the pita chips all night. The first lady apologized and said she didn't know and would have told me as much when I called to place my order had she known. I said it's "oh alright, that's fine" and left. I had already paid and I knew she couldn't do anything especially if they had been out of pita chips all night, but she could see I was disappointed. They didn't offer a credit or anything. I checked the menu and it specifically says "Buffalo Chicken Dip, Served with Fried Pita Chips". They should let patrons know if something is no longer available for the day instead of making a bad substitution (the nacho chips aren't as strong as the pita chips so they are just breaking now as I try to scoop the dip). I am extremely disappointed with having spent $16+ on this. Tip: check your take out orders before you pay and/or leave...
